[0:00] Lord's Day evening, 13th of July, 1997, Mr. Hyde George Coulter. Let us now further sing hymn 14, number 14, to the tune of Glasgow, 854. [0:26] Hymn number 14. Begin, my tongue, some heavenly theme, and speak some boundless thing, the mighty works or mightier name of our eternal King. [0:41] Tell of his wondrous faithfulness, and sound his power abroad. Sing the sweet promise of his grace and the performing God. [0:53] Hymn number 14. Baucus güí, who is eager to learn, He is eager to know and speak e'er. [1:07] As he is above the sea, the mighty works of my journey. [1:28] The mighty star of the king, till all his promise gave the rest. [1:52] And so his praise abroad, sing the last we've done. [2:08] The glory of the Lord. The glory of the Lord. The glory of the Lord. The glory of the Lord. The glory of the Lord. [2:20] Amen. Amen. Amen. Thank you. Thank you. [2:33] Our hope is this moment. The Lord, the rich and the rich man, His man was free, the sacred world. [3:01] With the land of the cross opened, And yet the sea made the land of the cross, The mighty promise shines. [3:35] God has the power of the cross, The power of the cross, The ever-lasting grace, The earth and the rich man, The earth and the rich man, The earth and the rich man, The earth and the rich man, The rich man, the mighty man, The rich man, the rich man, The mighty man, The high man, the rich man, [4:40] His heavenly grace His every word of faith is strong As the rich will the skies As the voice that draws The stars of the earth Sings on the ground As the Lord may help this evening [5:40] I will again direct your attention To the book of Malachi The third chapter in verse 16 The book of Malachi The third chapter in verse 16 Then they that feared the Lord Spake often one to another And the Lord hearkened and heard it And a book of remembrance was written Before him For them that feared the Lord And that thought Upon his name The book of Malachi chapter 3 And verse 16 As many of you will remember This morning we spent some time In just giving the background And the setting Of the situation that Was the order of the day When this prophecy was written And we also noticed That there was [6:41] A similarity with conditions Prevading today As in those days And therefore The words of our text Must never necessity Have an application To us even today Not only today But every day And at all times We made some emphasis Upon the esopening word Then They that feared the Lord Then At such a time Under such adversity Then They turned To their only refuge To their only hope To their only consolation To their only situation Wherein their faith Might be Increased and strengthened Then They that feared the Lord Spake often one to another Which is a wonderful Benefit and blessing Bestowed upon any of us If we fear God And this is not to be understood [7:42] As a terror of God But rather A holy and deep reverence For God And furthermore A love to God Oh it is a wonderful Experience for us To feel That we fear God Have a holy respect For him That we have a love To him And the word of God Tells us this We love him Because he first loved us And therefore We have to Disassociate ourselves With having any part In this Because God loved us first And because of this We love God Now is that not a wonderful blessing Is it not a humbling thought That Since ye are chosen From the rest To God The praise is due And so it is May we be found In the house of God This evening With the spirit of praise In our hearts If we can humbly say That we know [8:44] The person The people That are in That are mentioned In the verse Before us Simply because As we have met them So we have rejoiced With them So we have Wept with them So we have We have We have felt A union to them Then they that feared The Lord Spake of them One to another There are several points That we briefly mentioned This morning The result Of the fear of the Lord Being in our heart And it is certainly Worthy worthy Of our consideration It is to depart From evil It is The fullness of knowledge It is To Be Be To lead Our own ways And Follow A course Appointed out By God But then This evening As God Might help For just a little while [9:44] I will leave What was said This morning And come Quickly To the other Several points In this verse Then they that Feared the Lord Spake often One to another And When they Spake one to another They were not Just on The ground Of natural Situations Often We meet Together People meet Together They Speak about Various things I sometimes Thought In thinking Of those words Where two or three Are gathered Together In my name There am I In the midst People have Often Expressed Their thankfulness That since Congregations In some places Are small That this Is a Cheering word I feel Myself That it [10:44] Goes Much Much Into A much Larger Sphere Than They That Because Here They They That feared The Lord Spake often One to another And the Lord Harkened And perhaps You have Had the Experience Even if You Stopped In the Street Or Been In your Own Home And you Been With the People Of God And you Might only Have been Two or Three Or even Just a few More perhaps And you Been thinking Of the Things of God And speaking To the Glory and Honour of God And have You had The witness Sometimes That the Lord is Hearing The Lord is With you That he's Pleased To be In your Company And to Rejoice In the Glorious God God Glorifying Things That you Are speaking About So Then They that Feared the [11:44] Lord Spake Of them One to Another And the Lord Hearkened And heard It Can we Say Can we Believe That the Lord Has Hearkened To Our Exchanges In Conversation Can we Believe That the Lord Has Been Mindful Of Us When We Have Spoken To Him In Prayer Silent Prayer Prayer During The Night As Well As Prayer During The Day And The Lord Has Hearkened Now I Could Tell you One or Two Instances In My Life I Say One Or Two Perhaps More When I Knew That The Lord Had Hearkened Have You A Case In Your Life Where You Can Say Yes I Was Speaking To God And The Lord Hearkened And Heard It Sometimes [12:45] When We're In Company They Do Not Say Some Do Not Say Very Much But You Can Tell By The Expression On Their Faces How Much They Receive What You're Saying Now Without Wishing To Be Irreverent Let Me Say This Because Some Of You Might Have Had The Feeling And That Is When You Have Been Speaking To God He Hasn't Said A Word But You Felt By Faith That He Has Been Looking Upon You Favorably And He Rejoiced To Hear Your Voice What Do We Read In The Song Of Solomon Amazing Words And Astonishing In Their Content Where He Says In The Second Chapter [13:45] Oh My Dub The Dark In The Cliffs Of The Rock In A Secret Place Of The Stairs Let Me See Thy Countenance Let Me Hear Thy Voice For Sweet Is Thy Voice And Thy Countenance Is Comely Now If You Have Been Favored To Walk Up And Down In Such A Verse You Will Know This That The Lord Is Looking On You With A Smile On His Face And I Not Being Pensible When I Say That One of Our Hymns Has This Line Amazed To See Myself So Vile And Jesus Smiling All The While Then They That Fear The Lord Spake Often One To Another And The Lord Hearkened Oh How Wonderful It Is That The Lord Should Hearken As Satan Suggested To You He [14:46] Will Not Hearken To Your Prayers You Know You Was Praying At All Well We Can Venture We Can Venture I Am Resolved To Try For If I Stay Away I Know I Must Forever Die And The Lord Hearkened And Heard It It May Not Be An Everyday Experience Though We Are Called Upon To Have To Have That God Given Faith Where We Believe That God Has Heard If We Ask According To The Mind And Will Of God We Know That He Heareth Us And That In Due Time He Will Perform That For Which We Ask [16:07] To To You Can We Say In Humbleness Before God Yes That's True God By His Grace Has Made Me Willing To Leave Everything In His Hands To Seek First The Kingdom Of God And Notice The Word First Not Second Not Somewhere Down The Line But First The Kingdom Of God And His Righteousness And The Lord Will Bring It To Past It May Be That Some Of You I Would Think It Must Be Have Had This Experience Where You Just Had To Leave Everything In The Hand Of God And He Brought It To Pass You Have Been In A Great Distress You Tried And Tried Until You Absolutely Weary Of Trying It It All Come To Nothing They Fell Down There Was None To Help Then They Cried Unto The Lord In Their Trouble And He Delivered Them Out [17:07] Of Their Distresses And No Wonder The Psalmist Goes On Oh The Men Would Praise The Lord For His Goodness And For His Wonderful Works To The Children Of Men And The Lord Hearkened And Heard It And He Didn't Hearken And Hear It And Forget All About It You See Sometimes We Might Have A Very Interesting Conversation With Another Pilgrim Of Zion And After A While We May Not Forget All About It But We Forget The Detail And We Are Rather Sorry That Our Memory Has Been So Poor That We Could Not Remember Because It Was Such A Sweet Time Such A Time Of Favor And Now We Can't Remember The Detail Now That's Never Going To Be Happened Never Going To Happen In The Situation Described To Us In This Verse And [18:07] The Lord Hearkened And Heard It And A Book Of Remembrance Was Written Does Has Has Has God Brought To Your Mind The Book Of Taken Out Of The Book Of Remembrance Those Things That Were Had In Conversation Those Prayers That Escaped Your Lips When You Were In Great Distress And Your Sins Were Very Burdensome To You And You Thought That You Would Certainly Be Lost And God Told You I Am The Lord I Changed Not Therefore Ye Sons Of Jacob And I Concealed And Never Will Be And A Book Of Remembrance Was Written And Then There's Another Important Point Written Before Him Before God Now Everything That Is Done Before God In The Presence Of God Must Surely [19:07] Be True And Holy And Righteous If You Cannot Speak Of Great Things Yet Can You Speak Of A Time Or Two When You Felt To Be In The Presence Of God And God Has Spoken God Has Spoken And He Speaks Today It May Not Be As You Might Think About In Your Experience Just Flashes Into My Mind During The Early Part Of The War It Would Be 1939 I Think Before I Was Called Up For The Forces There Was Some Trouble That We Had At Home And There Was A Division Of Opinion I I Was I Was Alone The Rest Of The Family Were Against Me And I Remember [20:07] Very Well Returning To Business And After One Lunchtime And These Words God Spoke And God Did Speak Them When Thy Mother And Thy Father And Thy Mother Forsake The Then The Lord Will Take The Up It Was A Time Never To Be Forgotten I Will Not Say It Was A Time Of Overwhelming Power But Thy Father And Thy Mother Forsake The The Lord Will Take The Up Now In My My Father Had Died For Several Years So Of Course He Could Do Nothing And My Mother Under Some Pressure From Other Quarters I Would Think With Some Reluctance Had Had To Support The Others And Not Myself But What a Benefit There Was In That Because God Spoke A Wonderful Word And A Book Of Remembrance Was Written [21:08] Before Him Yes And That Word Had The Approbation Of Three People The Father The Son And The Holy Ghost In The Presence Of Two Or Three Witnesses Every Word Should Be Established So And The Lord Hearkened And Heard Perhaps You Will Say Well You Must Have Been Praying Unto God A Lot About This Matter I Cannot Say I Was Praying Unto God I Can Say I Was Groaning Before God But Hardly Capable Of Uttering Anything To God In So Many Words At That Time But God Was Listening And God Was Making A Note And And Shall I Say From That Note That My Mind Has Been Reminded Of It On Various Occations [22:08] And It May Be That Some Of You Might Have Perhaps Not The Same Detail But A Similar Occasion When I Feel Forsaken And Alone And Hear The Lion Roar And Every Door Is One And That Is Mercy's Door And That Mercy Was Open Unto You So Then And The Lord Hearkened And Heard It And A Book Of Remembrance Was Written Before Him Our Spiritual Experiences Are Before Him Do They Not Seem To Be So Do You Spiritual Experiences Holy Experiences What A Wonderful Testimony Does David Give In One Of The Psalms I Am Poor And Needy Yet The Lord Thinketh Upon Me And Surely We Have The Essence Of Those That Confession In The Words Before Us [23:08] And The Lord Hearkened And Heard It And He Saw Me Poor And Needy And He Thought Upon Me What Kind Of Thoughts Do You Think God Has Well The Word Of God Makes It Very Clear In The Prophecy Of Jeremiah We Read I Know This Is God Speaking I Know The Thoughts I Think Towards You Thoughts Of Peace And Not Evil To Give You An Expected End Those Words Words Those Words Were Spoken In A Time Of Israel And Judah's Captivity And They Were Going To Be In Captivity For Seventy Years Some Rose Up And Said It Won't Be Seventy Years It Will Be Two Years But It Was Seventy Years And Yet The Children Of God They Were Being [24:08] Taught All That Time I Know The Time Of Deliverance Of The Time Appointing For Deliverance It Came To Pass I Think We May Say As It Was With The Children Of Israel Coming Out Of Egypt The Day Of Deliverance Was 430 Years And On The Self Same Day They Came Out Of Egypt And If God Has Divine Appointment For You You May Have To Endure The Trial But The Self Same Day In The Mind And Purpose Of God Will Come And On That Day Nothing Can Stop It Your Deliverance Will Come Your Deliverance Will Be Wonderful And Perhaps As You Reflect Upon The Whole Matter You Will Say The Lord Hearkened And Heard It And The Book Of Remembrance Was Written Before Him I [25:08] Know God Doesn't Need To Forget He Doesn't Need A Book Of Remembrance To Remind Him Because His Mind Is Such That He Does Not Forget Although Others May Forget He Says Yet Will I Not Forget You And A Book Of Remembrance Was Written Before Him Now This Book Of Remembrance Was Not Just The Odd Day And It Can Be That Some Of You Have Proved That It Has Not Been The Odd Day Because God Has Brought To Your Attention From This Book Of Remembrance Certain Things That Have Happened And Certain Purposes That Have Been Appointed Which So We Go To Deuteronomy The Eighth Chapter And You Very Well Know The Words I'm Sure Thou Shall Remember All The Way Which The Lord Thy God Led The These [26:09] Forty Years In The Wilderness To Humble The And To Prove The And To Know What Was In Thine Heart Whether Thou Would Keep His Commandments Or No It's Not Just The Bare Writing It Is The Experience It Is The Day To Day Teaching Of The Lord God Has He Has Humbled Every One Of His Children And Can I Say That He Has Humbled You And He Has Proved You And He Has Caused You To Come To This Point That Man Doth Not Live By Bread Only But By Every Word That Proceeded Out Of The Mouth Of The Lord Doth Man Live A Book Of Remembrance A Book Of Remembrance For You I Feel Sometimes It Is A Good Thing In Our Varying Experiences If We Make A Note Of Them In Writing At The Time It Is Not The Experience That We Forget But [27:11] Because Of Our Limitations We Forget The Detail And Some Of Those Details Could Be Very Very Precious We Forget The Detail Now God In His Book Of Remembrance Will Include All The Details The Little Things That Meant So Much To You At The Time And Now You Forgotten Them You Can Remember The Outline But The Detail Oh Then If God Brings To Your Remembrance Or Remembrance Was Written Before Him And Where Was It Written It Was Written Upon Your Heart And Mine This Is Where God Writes The Book Of Remembrance He Has It In Heaven Of Course And That Will Perhaps Be A Solemn Book In Some Cases But He Writes It In Your Heart Don't You Think You Remember The Things That God [28:11] Has Done For You Is It Not Because He Brings It To Your Attention Yes Did I Not Say Did I Not Do Did I Not Deliver Did I Not Keep My Promise Did I Not Show You My Love And Favor A Book Of Remembrance Not A Book Did You Have To Go And Pick Up And Fetch Out From The Library But A Book That Is With You All The Time It May Be Covered Up Sometimes But It Is With You And God Refers To It And The Lord Hearkened And Heard It And A Book Of Remembrance Was Written Before Him Now We Come To The Point For Who And In The Last Phrase Here For Them That Feared The Lord And That Thought Upon His Name Let [29:13] Us First Those That Thought Upon His Name No One Would Think Upon His Name Unless They Feared The Lord And Though It Has Been Said And Suggested And Probably Truly That There Are Those That Are Able To Speak And Testify And Speak To One Another Over Things That God Has Done Have Not The Capability Of Expression Whilst They Are Glad To Hear What Others Are Saying Yet They Do Not Seem To Get Any Far Than Thinking Upon His Name And This Is A Great Benefit If God Enabled You To Think Upon His Name But Do Remember Those That You Are Listening To They Are Thinking Upon His Name They Have Been Thinking Upon His Name And Because God Has Given [30:13] That Ability He Is Able To Communicate To You Who Perhaps Wouldn't Go Any Further Than Say Yes I Think Upon His Name But I Can't Go Any Further Than That My Lips Seem To Be Sealed Well Let Me Come To This Point If That Is So What Is Your Real Reaction Do You Joy Saints To Meet Do You Like To Listen To Good Conversation I Believe It Is John Bunden In The Pilgrim's Progress He Speaks And I Believe In His Own Personal Experience He Speaks Of Those That Like To Listen To Good Conversation Now You Know Do You Like To Listen To Good Conversation Sometimes You Might Have The Opportunity Of Listening To Vain Conversation Or [31:13] Listening To Good Conversation Listening To The Conversation Of This World Or Listening To The Conversation Of The Heavenly Jerusalem Now Have You The Mark Of Being Amongst Those That Fear God Because You Are Glad To Listen To Good Conversation I Go Back To My Young Days In Christian Profession And It Was My Delight To Listen To The Older Members Of The Church Speaking Of Their Good Conversation That Is Where My Heart Rate And Isn't It So With You But You Will Have To Say Yourself How It Does Work Out But Do You Edge Towards A Little Group Of People If They're Talking About The Things Of God Or Do You Say Come on We've Had Enough Of This It's One Or The Other And Sometimes It's A Very Certain Situation And Those Thought Upon His Name So [32:15] You May Be Silent You May Be Able To Speak But There's One Thing Common To Both And That Is This Thinking Upon His Name Our Thoughts Are Generally Speaking Private To Ourselves We Cannot Discern The Thoughts Of People Unless They Express Themselves Have You Had Any Thoughts About The Lord Jesus Have You Had Any Thoughts About The Way Of Salvation I Was Wondering Whether I Would Read From The Prophecy Of Isaiah And The Ninth Chapter Or The One That I Did Now In That Chapter We Read For Unto Us A Child Is Born And Unto Us A Son Is Giver And The Government Shall Be Upon His Shoulder And His Name Shall [33:15] Be Called Wonderful Counselor Of Mighty God The Everlasting Father The Prince Of Peace Of The Increase Of His Government And Peace There Shall Be No End Upon No End Upon The Throne Of David And Upon His Kingdom To Order It And To Establish It With Judgment And With Justice From Henceforth Even Forever The Zeal Of The Lord Of Hosts Will Perform This Now We're Just Taking Those Two Verses In Isaiah 9 You See There Is Much That Can Be Brought Under The Heading Those Thought Upon His Name Now This Is God Given Thinking This Is Not Natural Thinking This Is Not Intellectual Thinking But It Is God Given Thinking They Thought Upon His Name Now What Is His Name Let [34:17] Just Look Briefly At The Names That We Have Here His Name Shall Be Called Wonderful Have You Called His Name Wonderful Wonderful Because It Is An Everlasting Name It Is A Name Which Is Above Every Name It Is A Name Which At The Sound Of It Every Knee Shall Bow A Wonderful Name We Might Say The Wonderful Name A Name Which Is Above Every Name His Name Shall Be Called Wonderful And It Will Also Be Called Wonderful Because We Have Had An Experience Of His Operations And The Word Of God Tells Us This That He Is Wonderful In Counsel And Excellent In Working Now Perhaps [35:17] I Trust It Has Been So You Have The Experience Of Proving That He Has Been Wonderful In Counsel Perhaps If You Been In A Situation And You Asked One And You Asked Another And What The Counsel That They Have Given Has Not Been Very Helpful At All When Does God Give His Counsel Well He Gave To Jehoshaphat When The Lord Said Our Eyes Are Upon The We Know Not What To Do Now You May Find It Very Trying To Know Not What To Do But Is It Going To Lead Up To The Time When You Are Going To Call His Name Wonderful Wonderful In In In Counsel Excellent In Working Wonderful If The Eternal Spirit Of God Should Lead You Into [36:17] The Person Of Christ There's Only One Word That You Can Use In Regards Of Revelation And That Is Wonderful Oh Yes Wonderful And If You Have A Valuation Less Than That There's Something Wrong Nothing No One Is To Be Compared With The Excellences That Are To Be Found In Jesus Christ They Thought Upon His Name And If You Should Be In Distress And Sometimes We Do Think In Distress The Name Wonderful And Perhaps By The Spirit Of God It Will Suddenly Come To You That's One Of God's Names One Of The Names Of Jesus He Is Wonderful The Very The Very Noun Itself Describes His Very Person His Very Ability And The Fact That He Can Do Things When No One Else Can So [37:20] His Name Shall Be Wonderful And Counselor There's Much False Counsel That Is Being Suggested To People In The Present Day And In Many Cases There's So Much Entanglement That Even The Best Of Lawyers Have A Difficulty In Disentangling The Entanglement Now You May Say Ah Yes Of Course I'm Going To Refer You To One Situation Where There Is Dr. [38:05] John Owen He Wrote A Petrus On The 130th Psalm And John Owen Is Not An Easy Man To Read Question But there's one thing that registered in my mind some years ago now. [38:24] Sin entanglement. Now is that not true? Sin entanglement. And seldom do we see the snare before we feel the smart. [38:39] So what are you going to do? Oh, what are you going to do? This is going to be a very debatable point. And yet it isn't. [38:50] Because there's only one thing that you can do. The psalmist evidently knew something about it. Because he refers to it. [39:06] They that trust in the Lord, 125th Psalm, shall be as Mount Zion. No, it's 124th Psalm. [39:17] If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, and do you find that there are experiences, perhaps today's experience, when you need the Lord to be on your side. [39:31] If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, now may Israel say, if it had not been the Lord who was on our side, when men rose up against us, then they had swallowed us up quick, that is alive, when their wrath was killed against us. [39:49] Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul. Some of these expressions in the scripture become live when we come into certain conditions. [40:02] So, is it a question of your failing, unless it had been that the Lord was on your side, to give you counsel and strength to stand in evil day? [40:17] The psalmist goes on, then the proud waters had gone over my head. Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth. [40:29] Our soul has escaped, as a bird out of the stare of the fowlers. The snare is broken, and we are escaped. And what was the result, of thinking, upon the name of the Lord? [40:46] Our help, is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth. It was not a question of, it seemed very likely. [40:59] I've often felt, and I've said many times, it's important to be positive. It seemed very likely, it's not going to help you very much. But if you can say, when God has given you a counsel, and what counsel do you think God gave, in this situation? [41:18] Well, it would be very likely, that the words that were spoken, are those found in, the 46th Psalm. Be still. [41:30] Be still, and know, that I am God. Be still, and so, whilst we are still, we look on, as we see God working. [41:43] And having had this experience, what kind of words, are we going to think? Oh, we're going to have, a glorious view, of God, who, works, according to his will and purpose. [41:57] And our conclusion now, is not in the balance. Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth, the name which is above every name, indeed, the name which is, is counselor, who is a great counselor, and one, who is able to give, wisdom, to the poor and needy, when he crieth. [42:28] But as we look at another word, he is a mighty God. Well, you listen to some people, and they tell you their troubles, but they, what they say, doesn't seem to indicate, that they believe in the mighty God. [42:49] They might say, they believe in God, but their, their conversation is half-hearted. Oh, that we might be delivered, from being half-hearted, in our conversation, that we have something to go on, that God is the mighty God. [43:09] I am God Almighty, said the Lord to Abraham, walk before me, and be thou perfect. Must return before him, for them that feared the Lord, and that thought upon his name. [43:26] Now, in one sense, these are two features, are one, the mighty God. How do we prove, that God is the mighty God? [43:41] Coming to spiritual realities, if we are lost, it needs a mighty God, to save us. If we are cast down, and ready to sink, it needs a mighty God, to save us. [43:57] When lower and lower, and we every day fail, he stretched forth his power, and snatched me from hell. And nothing but, the mighty God, although we might use, these strong words, when we speak of God. [44:13] Now, if you fear God, if you know God, if you worship God, he'll be a great God. He won't be a little G God, as sometimes is the expression, he'll be the great God, one who is able to do exceeding abundantly, above all we ask or think. [44:33] the everlasting Father. The everlasting Father. It is, the eternity, in unity, is a great mystery. [44:47] about, the Lord said to, one of the disciples, on one occasion, who asked the question, show us the Father, and it shall fight it us. [45:05] And Jesus answered, Philip, has there been so long time with me, and yet thou knowest not, whoso has seen me, hath seen the Father also. [45:17] I cannot begin, for one moment, to explain, the great mystery here, but the word of God, declares it, and, Jesus is the everlasting Father. [45:32] And so, perhaps you prove it that way, sometimes. The Father indeed, by the unity of the Spirit, the unity of the Trinity, is so close, that, one may, they are, but one in thought, and word, and deed. [45:52] The everlasting Father. But let us, focus our attention, for a moment, on this word, everlasting. The same, Jesus Christ, the same, yesterday, and today, and forever. [46:09] the everlasting Father, the everlasting God. We sometimes refer to those wonderful words in the scripture, the eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath, are the everlasting arms. [46:24] and then, there is one great word, the Prince of Peace. The Prince of Peace. Wherever the Prince of Peace comes, you will realize, that God is with you. [46:39] He, because, his very present, produces peace, peace in your mind. perhaps, without, without, saying the wrong thing, we can look, as a young child, and its father, and the dog comes along, oh, but what peace is in the child's mind, if father's there, he can deal with the dog, and what peace comes to the mind, of the child of God, if, the father, their father, the, the Lord Jesus Christ, we see him, we see the father also, and we are safe, in his arms, and safe in his hands, and whatever Satan may do, however, menacing he may look, yet, my father is by me, my saviour is by me, and who is he, that will be, will harm you, if ye be followers, of that, which are, which, is good, before him, for them, that fear the Lord, and that thought, upon his name, may we have much grace, that this, experience, may not be isolated, may it be a daily, concern, daily thinking, to think upon his name, you will remember, that one of our hymns, a well known, says how sweet, the name of Jesus, sounds in a believer's ear, he soothes his sorrows, heals his wounds, and drives away his fear, [48:24] I remember, hearing, of one godly man, who was very near, to his end, and that, verse was quoted, to him, and he said, in definite terms, and so it is, and he passed away, what a testimony, he thought, upon his name, it wasn't just, something that had, sprung up, when somebody, quoted those words, how sweet, may I not, quote them again, because they are sweet, how sweet, the name of Jesus, sounds in the believer's ear, and why, it soothes his sorrows, heals his wounds, and drives away his fear, so, there has been, not only, the word spoken, but accompanied, by the action of God, in your soul, can you, say how sweet, the name of Jesus, sounds, because you are, amongst those, that fear God, and furthermore, that you have felt, the power of this name, the comfort of this name, the strength of this name, the glory of this name, written, for them that feared the Lord, and thought upon his name, if we cannot say very much, [49:49] I'll be glad to hear, good conversation, I'll be ready to sit, and listen to others, that have given, that are, are recipients, of a better, better, way of putting things out, you know, sometimes, we can always hear, the, good things of God, and you may say, well, yes, that's true, one of our good friends, when we lived in London, he used to come, and visit us occasionally, he was a cockney, without any doubt, but he used to come, and he wouldn't be long, in our house, before, he would begin to, tell, the Lord's appearances, for him, now, we could have said, on more than one occasion, you've told us that before, but, he had, that spirit in him, that he was so full, of reality, that we were glad, to listen, and our children, you know, they left, what they were doing, they wanted to listen, to what he had to say, now, isn't that wonderful, have you had, such an occasion, in your family life, where the children, have left, what they've been doing, because they wanted, to hear, while this man, was speaking, to the glory of God, and the effect of, thinking upon his name, then they, that feared the Lord, spake up, from one to another, the Lord, hearkened, and heard it, and the book of remembrance, was written, before him, for them, that feared the Lord, and thought upon his name, now, don't keep the thoughts, to yourself, and I thank God, give you grace, to speak, and tell, to sinners round, what a dear saviour, you have found, and point, to his redeeming blood, and say, behold, the way to God, may the Lord, pardon all those, be the mess, and that which has been, sown in weakness, may it be raised in power, the power of the Holy Ghost, and may, a benefit, be accruing, by God's application, [52:14] Amen. we close with hymn 555, to the tune, Silchester, 66, hymn 555, when God proclaims, his name, then Zion hears, with joy, his grace, from age to age, the same, shall all her needs supply, when he descends, to show, the wonders, of his heart, his presence, lays proud nature low, and guilty fears, depart, hymn 555, 555, 555, 555, 555, that they, sublime, 555, 555, 555, when he, his sins, to show, the wonders, of his heart, his presence, 555, who will be depressed, who will be dizer, and guilty, bao、 gli辱, 555, quae who stroll, [54:28] Amen. And now, may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father's love, the fellowship and communion of the Holy Spirit be with us, now and evermore. [55:15] Amen. Amen. [55:58] Amen. Amen. [56:58] Amen. Amen. [57:58] Amen. Amen. [58:58] Amen.
