Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, (Quality: very good)

[0:00] As the Lord shall be pleased to help me, I shall call your attention to a subject you will find in Psalm 27.

[0:15] And the last verse, wait on the Lord. Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart.

[0:26] Wait, I say, on the Lord. Psalm 27 and the 14th verse.

[0:39] I believe that many of you before God at this time, each of you who is a sinner born again, know what it is to obey.

[0:56] This injunction which the psalmist was inspired of God to record for people taught of God throughout the ages to heed it.

[1:11] And you do not need the preacher to tell you how good it is to be helped to do it. The relief that it affords.

[1:25] And sometimes the happiness that you are the subject of. As you go on your way after waiting on the Lord, feeling you can indeed be of good courage and face whatever ills and evils are befalling you.

[1:48] Believing that in the ultimate issue, it shall be well. And now I want to look at this subject as grace is given from just three viewpoints of it.

[2:06] First of all, there is the exercise. Wait on the Lord. Wait on the Lord.

[2:44] one. One. There is in it the exercise. And the second viewpoint is the exhortation.

[2:59] And you need divine aid to obey it. Be of good courage. And he shall strengthen thine heart.

[3:14] And the third viewpoint is the expectation. Whenever you wait on the Lord, you have got something locked up in your breast that you desire to tell out before the Lord.

[3:31] Like Ezekiah, when he spread the letter before the Lord. And like this godly David who penned the psalm before us.

[3:43] And he says in another psalm, it is a very striking word. I showed before him my trouble. And you and I have got the privilege and the pleasure to do that before God.

[4:01] With whom you and I have to do. I showed before him my trouble. And now, first of all, wait on the Lord.

[4:18] And now, to do this aright as regards the exercise of it. It means much more than you may have contemplated. Unless you have learned by experience deeper down the meaning of it.

[4:35] It means not only to wait on the Lord as you try to tell him all the truth. As to what you feel within and what you are.

[4:47] And what you desire to be as grace is given. But what can you do aright as you journey on through life. Unless you wait on the Lord to enable you to do it.

[5:01] To his honor. His glory. And now that makes this exercise an everyday exercise. It is very comprehensive.

[5:13] Yea, it is all embracing. Look at it like this. Wait on the Lord. You need to do it in worship.

[5:28] I often think of those words of good Cornelius. We are all here present before God. To hear the things commanded thee of God.

[5:41] Do you always realize that? You come. And glad one is that you do come. Regularly like you do. The Lord bless you in coming.

[5:54] But do you always feel in the attitude of worship. That you are before God. And not just gather to hear the pastor.

[6:06] Or any other preacher. Wherever you may worship. You will get no good. No help. No profit. You will not feel as you want to feel.

[6:17] In worship. Unless. Unless. You wait on the Lord. To grant you what your soul. Desires. And that embraces.

[6:30] Not just listening to the gospel. While it is preached. You do indeed need to wait on the Lord. Concerning it. Bless spirit.

[6:43] Bless spirit. Of Christ. Descend on us. Thus. Thy servant assist. Teach him to teach us. But then. All through the worship of God.

[6:55] In every characteristic of it. You need to wait on the Lord. Lord. When you sing the songs of Zion. How can you sing.

[7:07] Praises. And make melody in your heart. Sing praises with understanding. Unless you wait on the Lord.

[7:19] To enable you to do it. That out of the abundance of the heart. The mouth. Might speak. When you read the word of God.

[7:31] Whatever the reading may be. Whether in the Old Testament. Or new. Wherever the preacher. May feel led. To read. You must wait on the Lord.

[7:44] Otherwise you cannot feel. Thy word. Is a lamp unto my feet. A light unto. My path. And when you follow the public prayer.

[7:57] You will not be able to add your amen. To any petitions that arise. From the preacher's lips. In offering it up. Unless you wait on the Lord.

[8:08] That you may walk in agreement. Before the throne of grace. And feel the unity of the spirit. I said.

[8:19] It is very comprehensive. It is all embracing. And when. You hear the gospel preached. Whoever the preacher is.

[8:31] And I might just. Make that comment. That it is not a matter of. Great importance. Who the preacher is. As long. As long. As he has divine authority.

[8:43] To be a preacher. And you will soon get the sense of that. If you wait on the Lord. If you listen to the preacher. Whoever he is.

[8:54] And you must remember. To look beyond the preacher. Whoever he is. And not forget. What the word of God. Tells us.

[9:04] And they saw no man. Save Jesus. Only. I like Job's. Viewpoint of it.

[9:15] I would seek unto God. And unto God. Would I. Commit. My cause. And therefore. You must wait on the Lord. When you listen to the gospel.

[9:28] That the watchmen. That go about the city. May find you. And open up. Your case.

[9:38] Your circumstances. That you may have light thereon. And go on your way. Helped with. A little help. Not only in public worship.

[9:51] Must you wait on the Lord. But in private worship. If you engage in it. I hope you do. You cannot live the life. Of the righteous. Without.

[10:02] Private worship. And. How good it is. When you're helped at times. To wait on the Lord therein. Sometimes.

[10:13] You may be very troubled. About it. Because it seems. So much repetition. And yet. When all is said and done. Every day you live.

[10:23] Is just a replica. Of the day before. You have got. Just the same. Needs. Within. And you need. Divine aid.

[10:34] To meet the same. You have your duties to do. And difficulties to face. And. What you. Wait on the Lord. To obtain.

[10:46] Is grace. For everyday life. And wisdom. To handle. Life's matters. Life's matters. Wisely. Yes. Wait on the Lord.

[10:58] In worship. Both in public. And in private life. You need. To do this. That your soul. May be satisfied.

[11:11] And you feel. As you want to feel. That matters are right. Between. Your soul. And God. And then. Not only does it. Refer to worship.

[11:23] It refers. To our walk. I wonder. If you have thought. Deep down. About this. Viewpoint. Of truth. Regarding your walk. I'm not fitting.

[11:33] Any caps on. I'm just. Trying to show you. What the word. Of the Lord. Is. And now. How can you. Walk a right. Unless you wait.

[11:43] On the Lord. As to what steps. You take. Oh the word. Of God. Is very solemn. It is not. In man. That walketh. To direct. His own steps.

[11:56] You cannot. Go forth. In life's journey. On your own initiative. In your own wisdom. Your own strength. No. No.

[12:06] You need to wait. On the Lord. Like. Moses of old. When he said. If now. I have found grace.

[12:17] In thy sight. Show me now. Thy way. And you need. To wait. On the Lord. As to how. You should walk. A right. At all times.

[12:29] Whether it be. In home life. In your own family circle. Or in your connection. With our cause of truth. And especially.

[12:39] Having your name. On a church roll. And when you go forth. Into the world at large. You need to wait. On the Lord. That you may walk.

[12:50] A right. And live. To his honor. His glory. And seek to show. Whose you are.

[13:01] And whom. You serve. There is yet another viewpoint. Of this waiting on the Lord. As regards the exercise of it.

[13:13] I have looked just a little. At the worship. And at. The walk. Then. You and I. If we are.

[13:24] What we. Desire to be. What we ought to be. We should show. Our faith. By our works. And that when you think of works.

[13:37] You need to wait on the Lord. That they may be in accordance. With what. He has ordained. For you. To do.

[13:49] There is a word. In the epistle. To the. Ephesians. Where. It is. Said. For we are his.

[14:01] Workmanship. Created. In Christ Jesus. Unto good works. Which God. Hath before. Ordained. Margin reading.

[14:13] Prepared. That we should. Walk. In them. Then you do need. To wait on the Lord. Regarding your works. Whatever you put your hand.

[14:24] To do. That it may be of God. You should do it. Otherwise. It cannot be. For his glory.

[14:37] Do remember that. I said. It is very comprehensive. It is quite an exacting. Exercise.

[14:49] Wait on the Lord. And then. In doing it. As you are helped in the exercise. How glad you will be.

[15:02] That it is not always. That you must go aside as it were. And. Be in the attitude of prayer. And tell out in words.

[15:14] Put together. Prayer. To express what your soul's desires may be. No. No. Prayer is the soul's sincere desire.

[15:26] Uttered. Or unexpressed. The motion of a hidden fire. That trembles. In. The breast. Yes.

[15:37] Wait on the Lord. Lord. To sum up this viewpoint of the subject. Pray. If thou canst. Or canst not speak. But pray with faith on Jesus name.

[15:51] So shall you wait on the Lord. Aright. And now. The word. Lord. Lord. Lord. Is in large letters. Which you all know.

[16:02] Means the Trinity. And there is a sweet viewpoint. Of the subject. As you think of it. Setting forth the Trinity. If you analyze your attempts to pray.

[16:18] You will find sometimes. You address the Father. Sometimes the Son. And I was going to say. And I think I will.

[16:30] More often. The Holy Spirit. You address each blessed person. In the Trinity. As you are helped.

[16:42] And out of the abundance of the heart. The mouth. Speaketh. And now sometimes. As you wait on the Lord. And address him. As the Father.

[16:54] You will be appealing. To him. That you might. Call him. Our Father. And that you might know for.

[17:07] Certainty. That you are a child. You want. The spirit of adoption. Whereby we cry. Abba.

[17:18] Father. And sometimes. You wait on the Lord. My God. My Father. Blissful name. Oh may I call thee mine. May I with sweet assurance.

[17:30] Claim a portion. So divine. Then often. You will wait on the Lord. And your approaches. To the throne of grace.

[17:41] Will be. To Jesus Christ. That you might. As the Apostle Paul. Sets it forth. So beautifully.

[17:51] That I may. That I may. May know him. And the power. Of his resurrection. The fellowship. Of his sufferings. And be made conformable.

[18:02] To his death. To his death. And as you wait on Jesus Christ. As the sinner's friend. Deep down in your heart. You do want the great question.

[18:14] Put out of question. You want to know. You want to know. Beyond all questioning. That Jesus Christ. Died for you. And that you might.

[18:24] Say for me. Oh miracle of grace. For me. The Savior. The Savior. Bled. But then. As you wait on the Lord.

[18:37] More often it will be. You wait. On the Holy Spirit. And that means. Often you will take up. Scripture language. As you address him.

[18:50] Because it is he alone. Who begins the good work. In a poor sinner's breast. And he alone. Can carry it on. And complete it.

[19:02] Oh you are utterly dependent. On the Holy Spirit. To have that religion. Which will do to live by. And to die by. And so.

[19:13] You will often. Wait on the Lord. Wait on the Holy Spirit. Lead me in thy truth. And teach me. And remember.

[19:25] When you use that petition. You must not have a kind of mental reservation. Hidden up in your breast. That you mean. Comfortable truth.

[19:37] No. No. All truth. Is not. Comforting. Some. Can make a sinner born again.

[19:49] Feel. Very comfortless. And guilty. And guilty before God. And there is a needs be to feel like that. And good it is when you can wait on the Lord.

[20:03] And. Use the hymn writer's approach. Convince us of our sin. Oh you do need that. You cannot be without it.

[20:15] There must be something known and felt of the malady. The leprosy. That lies deep. Within. Yes. Convince us. Of our sin.

[20:27] Then. Lead to Jesus' blood. And to our wandering view. To reveal. The secret. Love. Of God. You see dear friends.

[20:40] In just this outline of it. What it really means to wait on the Lord. To be engaged. In the exercise. An exercise unto.

[20:53] Godliness. But I look in the second place. At what I said was the exhortation. Be of good courage.

[21:05] And he shall strengthen thine heart. And now that good courage. Is that which a man cannot receive. Except it be.

[21:17] Given him from heaven. Men have got courage. Especially in times of danger. And they exhibit it. But it is not that courage which is of man.

[21:30] That will avail. In living the life of the righteous. The arm of flesh will fail. No flesh should glory in his presence.

[21:44] You need. This good courage. Which God alone can bestow. And when he does bestow it. You can face a frowning world.

[21:56] And you can face hell itself. And be of good courage. Because you realize. God is our refuge and strength.

[22:08] A very present help in trouble. Whatever its nature. Therefore will not we fear. If God be for us. Who can be against us.

[22:24] Be of good courage. And now. Through the Adam fall. And what one is by nature.

[22:36] It often happens. That along life's way. There are things that arise. Sometimes within. Sometimes from without. And their immediate effect upon you.

[22:51] Is to fill you with. Discouragement. As you. Ponder these things. And what. The outcome of these things.

[23:02] May mean to you and yours. Or you may. Be surfeited. With discourage. As you think on these things.

[23:12] And yet. Godly David. Could tell you. If he was here. To do so. That when he was.

[23:23] At the greatest pass. That he ever was. In his life. When. He came back. To Ziklag. And found. It was burnt. With fire. And all.

[23:34] To do with him. And his people. The Amalekites. Had gone. And carried. All away. And the people. Were all discouraged.

[23:46] But it says. David encouraged himself. In the Lord his God. And now it is a great mercy. When you can be helped.

[23:58] To do that. It is a blessed occupation. Occupation. And it means this. His oath. His promise.

[24:09] And his blood. Supports me. In the whelming flood. When all around my soul. Gives way. He then is all my help.

[24:20] My stay. You can be of good courage. When things. As regards your circumstances. Are at their worst. Then your religion.

[24:32] Comes out. At its best. As you read. In Psalm 107. Then are they brought. To their wit's end. Margin reading.

[24:44] All their wisdom. Is swallowed up. Then they cried unto the Lord. In their trouble. And he saved them. Out of their distresses.

[24:56] He delights to do it. He is ready to do it. Yes. The Lord waiteth to be gracious.

[25:07] Unto you. But he does say. I will be inquired of by you. O house of Israel. To do these things.

[25:19] Therefore. It becomes you. And I. To wait. On the Lord. Be of good courage. You might have much.

[25:32] That discourages you. You look within it. What you are by nature. And it is well. You should know somewhat of it.

[25:44] But you must remember. What Joseph Hart says. For it is good counsel. Pour not on thyself too long. Lest it sink thee lower. All you get.

[25:57] As you look within. At what you are by nature. Is to get a further. Opening up of it. And be yet more discouraged. By what you see.

[26:08] A very vile. And full of sin. You really are. So that you ultimately conclude. No sinner needed mercy more. That ever sought thy face.

[26:24] Death's within thee. All about thee. But the remedy. Is without thee. View it in the Saviour's blood. Here is where good courage.

[26:35] Is to be obtained. If we confess our sins. He is faithful and just. To forgive us our sins. And to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

[26:48] The blood of Jesus Christ. God's Son. Cleanseth us from all sin. Be of good courage. And he shall strengthen.

[27:00] Thine heart. You may be discouraged. Not only by. Things within arising. From what you are by nature. But things without. Oh there might be things.

[27:13] In your. Family circle. To do with the children. Or other matters. Under your home roof. That you want sorted out. And the light of heaven.

[27:24] To shine upon them. That you might. Know wherein is the good. And right way. For you to go along. Regarding the same. Or it may be.

[27:35] As you live and move in the world. To earn the bread which perisheth. You may have to. Live and work. In the midst of much discouragement. From the ungodly.

[27:47] And yet. Surely. Surely. If you pause a while. And think on the matter again. If you are discouraged.

[28:02] Because the world. Opposes you. Sets you at naught. Mocks you. What does that prove? The world must discern.

[28:15] There is a difference. Between. Them. And you. And that difference. Is one that God has made. And you should be.

[28:28] Of good courage. That God has made it. And bind on your heart. As a badge. What the world. Thinks about you.

[28:40] When it says. This. That and the other. To cast you down. And mock. And scoff. Surely. You should think. Like the hymn writer.

[28:51] If on my face. For thy dear name. Shame and reproaches be. All hail reproach. And welcome shame. If thou remember me. Yes.

[29:04] Oh you should be. Of good courage. About it. And then. However discouraged. You may be. Because the world.

[29:16] Seems against you. Where you earn the bread. Which perisheth. You must not forget. There is a blessed foundation. For you to stand on.

[29:27] And be of good courage. In spite of it. In the world. Ye shall have tribulation. But be of good cheer. I have overcome the world.

[29:39] Yes. Wait on the Lord. Be of good courage. And he shall strengthen. Thine heart.

[29:51] And now. You may be. Discouraged. I just draw a bow at a venture. Because. If the truth be told. You are very.

[30:02] Solemnly aware. That you are in a backsliding state. And that things are not with you nowadays. As you have known them to be. In bygone experiences.

[30:12] In the years now gone. You are found at the ends of the earth. And the truth is that there is a distance.

[30:26] Between the Lord and you. And there is a barrier. What has made that barrier? Your sins and your iniquities have separated.

[30:40] Between you. And your God. What can be done about it. Oh. You can learn.

[30:51] What can be done. In Jeremiah's prophecy. In a wonderful scripture. Only acknowledge. Thine iniquity. Return unto me.

[31:03] I will return unto you. Only acknowledge. Thine iniquity. And if you are helped to do that. Go back to what I quoted.

[31:16] If we confess our sins. He is faithful and just. To forgive us our sins. And to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. You shall know.

[31:28] Jesus blood through earth and skies. Mercy eternal. Mercy Christ. You may be discouraged. Because you contemplate the state of mind you are in.

[31:41] And contrast it with. Bygone experiences. And. You ponder in your heart. What you are.

[31:53] And where you are. And the devil may suggest. There is no help in God for you. And that you. Have sinned against light and knowledge.

[32:06] Therefore. How can you be of good courage. And think God will. Remember you in mercy still. What did the Savior say.

[32:18] Which should encourage you. All manner of sin. Shall be forgiven. Yes. Joseph Irons has a wonderful hymn.

[32:32] And one verse in it. Is this. The blood. That purchased our release. It washes out.

[32:42] All stains. We challenge earth or hell to show. A sin it cannot cleanse. Think of that scripture again. The blood of Jesus Christ.

[32:55] God's son. Cleanseth us. From all. Sin. All. David knew. The blessedness of it.

[33:08] For he says in one. Blessed Psalm. Of his. Who forgiveth. All. Thine iniquities. Who healeth.

[33:20] All. Thy. Diseases. You see. You see. There is every warrant. In the word of God. For you. Poor sinner. To wait on the Lord.

[33:32] And be of good courage. In doing it. And now. You might have some trouble. Which looms on life's horizon. You might be.

[33:45] In life's evening time. And infirmities encompass you around. And. You find that nature decays.

[33:57] And you know deep down in your heart. That it cannot be afar off. Ere you must step out of time. Into eternity. And you may be discouraged.

[34:08] As you contemplate it. Because you are like the hymn writer. When he said. My fears. Sometimes say.

[34:19] I never shall find. In death's gloomy day. True peace. To my mind. And now. What has God said. Whereby.

[34:30] You can be of good courage. About it. Listen. And deliver them. Who through fear of death. Were subject. All their lifetime.

[34:42] Unto. Bondage. Oh. You will find. That he who has helped you. Along life's way. You are in. You are out.

[34:53] And granted you. Tokens for good. And you know. That he has been pleased. To do it. However dark. And dismayed. You may feel.

[35:03] In your soul's experience. At the present time. In life's evening. Time. The Lord will appear. And you shall yet.

[35:15] Find the bottom. To be good. In Jordan's swelling. Is there a guarantee. For that. Yes. He which hath begun.

[35:27] The good work. In you. Will perform it. Until the day. Of Jesus Christ. Christ. And this is included in it.

[35:38] And as thy days. So shall thy strength be. E'en down to old age. All my people shall prove.

[35:49] My faithful. Eternal. Unchangeable. Love. Be of good courage about it. And remember.

[36:01] He hath delivered. And he doth deliver. And he will yet deliver us. Wait on the Lord. Be of good courage.

[36:13] And he shall strengthen thine heart. If some affliction. Is laid on you. And the physician. Diagnoses it.

[36:24] As something. Very serious. And that may. Ultimately. Bring you down. To the grave. At the onset of it. As the news.

[36:34] Is brought to you. You may be discouraged. In the consideration. Of it. And yet. In the word of God. There is.

[36:45] Help for you. Listen. Blessed is the man. Whom thou. Chastenest. O God. And teachest him. Out of thy law.

[36:56] That there mayest. Give him rest. From the days. Of adversity. And this affliction. Sent to you. Whoever it is.

[37:08] Is not. An evidence. Of his anger. With you. But his dear covenant love. Whom the Lord. Loveth. He chasteneth.

[37:19] And scourgeth. Every son. Whom he. Receiveth. Or how much. Might be said. Along that line. Of thought. But I look at the subject.

[37:30] From yet another viewpoint. Still under the. Viewpoint. Of the exhortation. Wait. On the Lord.

[37:41] Be of good courage. And he shall strengthen. Thine heart. Thine heart. And now you must not read into this. What is not.

[37:53] Recorded. In other words. You must not have a private interpretation of it. No scripture. Is of any private interpretation. You must not read it like this.

[38:08] Be of good courage. And he shall make thee strong. So that you feel. You have got in reserve. Tomorrow's strength. Today. No.

[38:20] No. You will never be allowed to live like that. You will never have any surplus strength. Any surplus grace.

[38:32] I do want you to weigh these things up. Because this is the way. And walk ye in it. And you and I have got to learn to live. Every moment be receiving strength.

[38:45] And yet be always weak. You can look through the sacred pages. And you will find all the way through the Holy Bible. This is the way God has ordained.

[38:58] For the righteous. To live a right. My grace. My grace. Is sufficient. For thee. My strength.

[39:09] Is made perfect. In weakness. And now. This gives me a thought. It will mean that when you wait on the Lord. You will have to come like this.

[39:21] Nothing. In my hand I bring. You must come empty. You must come empty. That you may be filled. Nothing of your own.

[39:33] Is allowed as a plea. No. No. Wait on the Lord. And now. Some of you.

[39:45] As you are in and you are out. You have been waiting on the Lord. Some of you have only. Just begun to do it it may be. Being in life's mourning.

[39:57] Nothing. Oh but if you have begun to do it. The Lord bless you. And help you to continue. Oh wait on the Lord.

[40:08] Be of good courage. And he shall strengthen thine heart. Wait I say. On the Lord. And now you might be waiting on the Lord. Regarding something special.

[40:20] Something special. That you want him to do. In your soul's experience. Go back to that word I quoted.

[40:31] It might be. You have this desire. That I may know him. Oh you are. In agreement with the hymn writer. To know my Jesus crucified.

[40:44] By far excels. All things beside. Yes. What does the word of God say. To encourage you. Then shall we know.

[40:59] If we follow on. To know the Lord. Is going forth. Is prepared as the morning. Look at the beautiful illustration. Prepared as the morning.

[41:11] Unto you that fear my name. Shall the sun of righteousness. Arise. Arise. With healing. In his wings. Think of it like this.

[41:23] A time he has set. To heal up thy woes. A season most fit. Is love to disclose. Until he is ready. To accomplish his will. Be patient.

[41:34] And steady. Wait on him still. Says David. It is not vain repetition. Wait I say. On the Lord.

[41:47] And as you do that. You wait. For the Lord. It might be. You want to know. The wonderful. Experience. That through this man.

[41:58] There is preached unto you. The forgiveness of sins. Oh you ponder it. In your heart. And sometimes. You hear of others. Who are favored.

[42:10] To realize it. And you may read. Of those. Who can define. When that great mercy. Filled their heart. Full to overflowing.

[42:21] With happiness. And deep down. In your heart. You sigh and cry. And feel it is so high. I cannot attain to it. Shall I ever know.

[42:32] The blessedness. Of the man. Whose transgression is forgiven. And whose sin is covered. Who can tell but what God will be gracious unto you.

[42:46] You have every warrant. To wait on the Lord about it. And you can plead his word. And the Lord will not be offended.

[42:57] He will take pleasure in you doing it. You can tell him. Him that cometh unto me. I will in no wise.

[43:09] Cast out. And ask him to fulfill it. To you. A poor sinner. Who desires to come. And prove the blessedness.

[43:21] Of having a welcome. At the throne of grace. And to rejoice. In thee. Forgiveness. Of sins. Wait on the Lord.

[43:33] Be of good courage. And thee shall strengthen thine heart. Wait I say. On the Lord. It may be. You are waiting on the Lord.

[43:44] About some matter. Which I. May not touch on. Or go into any details. But you know what the matter is. And you want some. Answer to prayer.

[43:56] That your soul may be. Satisfied. And you might feel the peace of God. Regarding it. It may be to do with your soul's. Eternal welfare.

[44:08] Or it may be to do. With matters in your everyday life. Life. But you have waited on the Lord. And you are still waiting. And all you can say.

[44:22] As you wait as yet. Is. Remember the word. Unto thy servant. Upon which. Thou hast caused me. To hope. What are you to do?

[44:35] What can you do. But still wait. On the Lord. God. And remember. The vision is for an appointed time. And though it tarry. Wait for it.

[44:46] In the end. It shall speak. And not lie. It will surely come. It will not tarry. Much might be said. Under that heading.

[45:21] On which the expectation. Of a sinner waiting on the Lord. Is based. You sing about it. How firm a foundation.

[45:33] Ye saints. Of the Lord. Is laid for your faith. In his excellent word. That is the foundation. On which you stand.

[45:44] As you appear. Before God. And you can be of good courage. Regarding it. Not one of the exceeding.

[45:54] Great and precious promises. Has ever failed a poor sinner yet. Who has waited on the Lord. For the fulfillment. Of the same. To fit in.

[46:06] With his own soul's experience. Scripture. Cannot be broken. God who cannot lie.

[46:18] Oh what great verities. Are these. Wait I say. On the Lord. For him. And then. There is the throne of grace.

[46:31] God has appointed it. Down through the ages. Millions of sinners. Have waited on the Lord. Before it. And what have they proved.

[46:42] Everyone. Doing so. As grace is given. As found. Blessed are all they. That wait. For him.

[46:55] Yes. Let us therefore. Come boldly. Unto the throne of grace. To obtain mercy. And find grace. To help. In time. Of need.

[47:06] What did the Selmist say. And you know. That David. Was in some very. Sad places. At times. As he journeyed on. Through life.

[47:19] Sad places. Where he ought not. To have been. Had he been. Living according. To the revealed. Will of God. But. Satan gained. An advantage.

[47:29] Over him. And he was brought low. And could only. Plead. Leave not. My soul. Destitute. Take not. Thy Holy Spirit.

[47:41] From me. But what did he say. Later on. Blessed be God. For he hath heard. My prayer. And turned away. His mercy.

[47:52] From me. Yes. Wait on the Lord. Be of good courage. And he shall strengthen. Thine heart.

[48:04] Wait I say. On. The Lord. There is not only. The throne of grace. To encourage you. And to think. That no sinner.

[48:14] Was ever yet. Empty. Sent back. Who came. Seeking mercy. For Jesus. Say. But there is the fountain. Open for sin. And for uncleanness. And that precious blood.

[48:26] Which fills it. Still avails. It still possesses. Its infinite efficacy. And it does.

[48:38] Cleanse. From all sin. Not only so. There is the righteousness. There is the righteousness of God. Which is by faith. In Jesus Christ.

[48:48] For poor sinners. Who have none of their own. Wherein to appear. Before him. And just this thought. As I conclude.

[49:01] In regard to things providential. In your everyday life. Whatever your needs may be. And. As you realize.

[49:14] Your needs. The word of God. Emboldens you. Encourages you. To wait on the Lord. Regarding them. Whatever they may be. Or they may be.

[49:27] Great needs. As you view them. But there is help in God. And his word is sure. My God. Shall supply. All your needs.

[49:38] Out of his riches. In glory. Through. Christ. Jesus. Wait on the Lord. Be of good courage.

[49:50] And he shall strengthen. Thine heart. Wait I say. On the Lord. Sum it up like this. For the wonders. God has wrought.

[50:01] Let us each. Our praises give. And by sweet. Experience taught. Call upon him. While we live. Amen.
