[0:00] Speaking of the Lord's help, I direct your attention this evening to the prophecy of Isaiah chapter 26 and verse 12. The prophecy of Isaiah chapter 26 and verse 12.
[0:16] Lord, thou wilt ordain peace for us, for thou also hast wrought all our works in us.
[0:30] Lord, thou wilt ordain peace for us, for thou also hast wrought all our works in us.
[0:49] This prophecy of Isaiah is indeed a prophecy. And the fundamental part of that prophecy is Christ himself.
[1:09] From beginning to end, this prophecy opens up the blessed truth of Christ coming here to this world.
[1:22] And the work he came to do. Throughout the whole of the Old Testament, there are contained the most remarkable prophecies of Christ.
[1:38] They relate to his coming here into the world. All the figures that were given in the old Jewish services pointed again and again to the shedding of blood.
[1:54] The sacrifice for sin. The beauties of the scripture spoken of to Moses. The blood upon the lintels of the doorposts.
[2:09] The knife raised over Isaac. All time and again points to Calvary's cross. And to the work of Christ.
[2:23] This chapter is no exception. And I would like just before I come to the text. To look at the chapters that we have read. This evening the 25th and 26th chapters.
[2:36] And look just for a moment. At some of the glimpses we have in prophecy. Beautifully accurate. Speaking in detail.
[2:47] Of the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. We know that right down to the parting of his garments. And the casting of lots for his vesture.
[2:59] There was a fulfillment of the word of prophecy. At the time of the crucifixion. And beautifully spoken of.
[3:10] Is the words which we preached from last Sunday. They shall look upon him whom they pierced. And they shall mourn. There were the soldiers.
[3:23] Who nailed him to the cross. And there is the prophecy regarding them. And we read of them. In the gospel. Sitting down.
[3:34] They watched him there. And we see the very fulfillment. Of these precious truths. But here. We have in these chapters.
[3:45] As in the 25th chapter. Striking references to Jerusalem. In this mountain shall the Lord of hosts. Make unto all people.
[3:57] A feast of fat things. And so on. And he will destroy in this mountain. The face of the covering. That is. The blindness and death.
[4:09] Of the ungodly. That covering. That blindness. Which hid him. And the blindness of the Jews. To who he was. He will destroy in this mountain.
[4:20] The face of the covering. Over all people. And first of all. What is the mountain. And we have the answer to it. In the opening part.
[4:31] Of this prophecy. Where we read in the second chapter. It shall come to pass. In the last days. That the mountain of the Lord's house.
[4:42] Shall be established. In the top of the mountains. And shall be exalted. Above. Above. The hills. And where is it.
[4:52] The word of the Lord. That Isaiah. The prophet saw. Concerning Judah and Jerusalem. The mountain.
[5:03] As we go on to read here. Is quite clear. And many people. Should go. And say. Come and let us go up. To the mountain of the Lord. To the house. Of the God of Jacob.
[5:15] And he will teach us his ways. And we will walk in his path. For out of Zion. Shall go forth the Lord. And the word of the Lord. From Jerusalem. And it was.
[5:28] At Jerusalem. That. The cross of Christ. Was raised. Upon that. Mount. That he was crucified.
[5:41] And here. We see the. Blessed nature. Of this truth. And. What a truth it is. That he will destroy.
[5:52] In this mountain. The face of the covering. Over all people. And the veil that is spread. Over all nations. And he will swallow up. Death in victory. And the Lord God.
[6:03] Will wipe away tears. From off all faces. Beautifully spoken of. In the book of the Revelation. In the chapter. In the seventh chapter. And God himself.
[6:14] Shall wipe away. All tears. From their faces. All here. All here. All here. All here. We. See the mighty work. Of Christ. Upon the.
[6:26] Cross of Calvary. That is spoken of here. In this prophecy. And there is another. Striking prophecy here. He shall. Spread forth his hands.
[6:38] In the midst of them. As one. As he that. Swimmeth. Spreadeth forth his hands. To swim. Or whatever remarkable prophecy. That is.
[6:49] The Lord's hands. Spread forth. On Calvary's cross. And as we read. In the 22nd. Psalm. Long before. The punishment of.
[6:59] Crucifixion. Was ever devised. They pierced. His. Hands. And his feet. And we see.
[7:10] Again and again. These. Prophecies. Fulfilled. And we. Follow them here. For the. We have a strong city. Salvation.
[7:21] Will God appoint. For walls. And bulwarks. And then. This blessed truth. That will keep him. In perfect peace. Whose mind. Is stayed on thee.
[7:32] Because he. Trusted in thee. We see. The. Lord Jesus Christ. Himself. Dying on the. Cross at Calvary.
[7:42] For his dear people. Opening those. Blessed gates. That are spoken of. In this chapter. Open. Ye the gates. And hear.
[7:53] That the righteous nation. Which keepeth the. Truth. May enter in. And so we. Follow. The. Example. Here. That is.
[8:04] Given us. Of the. Prophecy. Regarding Christ. And finally. We would point you. In this chapter. To this. Blessed prophecy. Regarding Christ. Thy dead men.
[8:16] Shall live. That is. Those. Dead. In trespasses. And sins. They shall live. And together. With my dead body.
[8:26] Shall they arise. First. Oh. The. Blessed nature. Of the. Resurrection. Of Christ. Not only. The cross of Calvary. Is spoken of here. But the.
[8:38] Blessed nature. Of the resurrection. Together. With. My dead body. Shall they arise. A fulfillment. Of that truth.
[8:49] Of the great morning. Of the resurrection. When the. Dead in Christ. Shall. Rise. First. And we have only.
[8:59] To look. A little further. In this prophecy. In the. 53rd. Chapter. To read there. The. Precious nature.
[9:10] Of why. The Lord died. He was wounded. For our transgressions. He was bruised. For our iniquities. The chastisement.
[9:21] Of our peace. That is the punishment. That produced our peace. Was upon him. And with his stripes. We're healed. I say these few remarks.
[9:32] Before I come to the text. To point. To a few. Of the blessed. Revelations of truth. Regarding Christ.
[9:42] Which lie in this prophecy. But. Let us come immediately. To the text. We have here. Another revelation. Of Christ. Lord.
[9:53] That is. Lord Jesus Christ. Thou wilt ordain. Peace for us. For thou also. Hast. Wrought. All our works.
[10:03] In us. And here. We have the work. Of father. Son. And Holy Spirit. Divine. Purposes. Oh.
[10:15] Here we see. The solemn nature. Of the division. Between God. And his dear people.
[10:27] It is sin. It is conflict. The figure here. Is war. And peace. And man.
[10:38] In his. Unregenerate. Fallen. And ruined condition. Is at war. With God. He is in. Conflict. With God. He is walking.
[10:48] In. Disobedience. He is walking. In darkness. He is walking. In death. He loves. Darkness. Rather than light. Because his deeds.
[10:59] Are evil. And we see. The mighty force. Of these words. They were to ordain. They were to ordain. Peace. For us. We see.
[11:10] The decrees. Of heaven. God's. Everlasting. And eternal. Covenant. In eternity. Past. That the Lord.
[11:21] Ordained. In his. Majesty. And power. And glory. That. He would bring. Peace. Between himself. And his dear church.
[11:34] No longer. Would they be at war. With him. No longer. Would their heart. Be full of enmity. Malice. Hatred. We see the most remarkable case.
[11:47] In the apostle Paul. All his. Hatred. How the veil. Was over his eyes. God. God. And at Jerusalem.
[11:58] In the mount of the Lord. God. Ordained. Peace. And we see it. In those words of the angels. On the hills of Bethlehem.
[12:10] When Christ. Entered this world. They. Uttered. Those words. On earth. Peace. Peace. I do not believe.
[12:22] We understand. A fraction. Of what that meant. It means. That the great. Healer. Of the breach. The restorer.
[12:34] Of the past. The dwelling. Was on earth. Christ. Had come. To Bethlehem's manger. And as the angels.
[12:45] Viewed him there. They saw him. As that great. Healer. Of the breach. Between God. And fallen. Ruined sinners. There they saw.
[12:57] The finished work. Of Christ. In the babe. Of Bethlehem. As dear. Joseph Hart. Said. In that dear. Babe. Of Bethlehem. I say. My God.
[13:09] Contracted. To a span. For me. And when. He came here. Into this earth. We have such a sight. The man had no hand in him.
[13:22] You never ask him to come. All through the Old Testament. It was prophesied. That he would come. Time and again. There were prophecies.
[13:33] To be fulfilled. In his lifetime. And as the. Writers of the Gospels. Wrote their Gospels. They said. Again and again. As they viewed. The individual events.
[13:45] Of Christ's lifetime. This was done. That it might be fulfilled. Which was spoken. By the prophet. God. And we see here.
[13:56] The Lord Jesus Christ. Coming down. Into this earth. And he had a work. To do. And it was ordained. Of God. He is described. In that mighty.
[14:06] Power of God. As the Lamb slain. Before the foundation. Of the world. He came. To fulfill. A mighty purpose. Lord.
[14:18] Thy world. Ordain peace. But you know. That is not. All it says. Lord. Thy world. Ordain peace.
[14:29] There had to be. A way of peace. God's holy law. Had to be satisfied. Justice. Had to be seen.
[14:39] To be fulfilled. In all its. Glorious nature. And one. Had to die. For the people. And the Lord Jesus Christ.
[14:51] Had to come. Come here. Into this earth. To offer himself. A sacrifice. For sins. Oh. How we see. The holiness. And majesty.
[15:03] Of God. Had to stand. Untouched. How could he do so? How could there ever be peace. Between God. And sinners.
[15:13] How could sin ever be put away. And the simple answer given in scripture. Without the shedding of blood. Is no remission. Who can forgive sins.
[15:26] Asked the Pharisees. And the answer was this. God only. And here we see. In this world. Lord. Thy world. Ordain peace. For us.
[15:36] The Lord. So. So. Blessedly. In his prayer. That concluded. The last supper. And recorded. In the 17th of John. Said.
[15:46] I pray not for the world. For those. Whom thou hast given me. For they are thine. And all mine are thine.
[15:57] And he went on to say. Father I will. For those whom thou hast given me. Be with me. Where I am. And we see here.
[16:07] That as the prophet. Prophet Isaiah. Wrote these words. He expressed. The voice.
[16:18] Of the church of Christ. In all generations. Lord. Thy world. Ordain. Peace. For us. There was to be.
[16:30] A way. In which. God's holy law. Was satisfied. God. Was. Satisfied. In the vicarious death.
[16:41] Of Jesus Christ. Upon the cross. That he would. Bear the. Sins of his dear people. In his body. Upon the tree. Bear the.
[16:52] Punishment. For those sins. The beauty of this prophecy. He was wounded. For our transgressions. Says the church of Christ. He was bruised.
[17:02] For our iniquities. The chastisement. Which produced our peace. Was upon him. And with his stripes. We are healed.
[17:14] Blessed words. You know. This chapter. Speaks of this peace. There will keep him. In perfect peace. Whose mind. Is stayed on thee.
[17:24] Because he trusted in thee. My dear friends. As you. View those words. Outker. Keep him in perfect peace. Whose mind.
[17:35] Is stayed on thee. What is the mind. Of God's dear people. Stayed upon. It is stayed upon. The death. Resurrection. Ascension.
[17:46] And intercession. Of the God man. The Lord Jesus Christ. In heaven above today. It is indeed. And there is the peace.
[17:57] The chastisement. That produced. Our peace. Was upon him. With his stripes. We are healed. And this. Blessed peace.
[18:08] The hymn writer puts it. Into that beautiful language. Peace. Perfect peace. In this. Dark. World. Of sin. The blood.
[18:20] Of Jesus. Speaketh. Peace. Within. And oh. How we need. To be brought. To this. Blessed place.
[18:30] That is spoken of here. And to know something. Of this peace. Lord. Thou wilt ordain. Peace. For us.
[18:41] We see. That work. Accomplished. In the death. Of Christ. Upon the cross. When he died.
[18:52] He said. It is finished. And in those words. There is contained. A mine of truth.
[19:04] What. Had he finished. What had he done. What was the work. That he'd accomplished. I believe this. He had accomplished.
[19:17] A perfect. Spotless. Sacrifice. For sin. He had borne. The guilt. Of all his dear church. In all ages.
[19:28] In his body. On the tree. Peter speaks of it. So clearly. Who his own self. Bore. Our sins. In his own body.
[19:40] On the tree. Or. We can read it. Equally. To the tree. There. The guilt. Was paid for. Expiating.
[19:50] Created. Put away. Forever. And there was peace. Between God. And his dear church. And we read this. In the. Epistle of Paul. To the Romans.
[20:01] Where he says. There is therefore now. No condemnation. To them. That are in Christ Jesus. The blood.
[20:11] Of Jesus Christ. His son. Cleanseth us. From all sins. Says John. The divine. And there was a healing. Of the breach. Between God.
[20:22] And his dear people. And the Lord. Spoke of it. In his own day. He said. My peace. He didn't mean. Freedom.
[20:32] Freedom. From sorrow. In this world. Freedom. From trouble. He meant something. Vastly different. He meant. Peace. In our heart. Regarding the guilt.
[20:43] And the filth. And the condemnation. Of sin. He meant. Pardon. In our souls. We have. To be prepared.
[20:54] This side of the grave. For heaven. The anthem. Of glory. Is recorded. In the opening chapter. Of the book. Of the revelation. There we.
[21:06] Read. The song. Of the redeemed. And what did they sing. Unto him. That loved us. And washed us. From our sins. In his own blood. And hath made us.
[21:17] Kings. And priests. Unto God. And his father. To him. Be glory. And dominion. Forever and ever. Amen. Behold. He cometh with clouds.
[21:29] And every eye. Shall see him. And they also. Which pierced him. And all kinders. Of the earth. Shall well. Because of him. Even so. Amen. And there we see.
[21:41] The anthem of the redeemed. What are they seeing? A knowledge. Of the. Precious blood of Christ. A knowledge. Of this.
[21:53] Sacred peace. In their hearts. The love of Christ. And the blood of Christ. Sweetly. Known in their souls. In the.
[22:04] Power of it. And here we have the word. Of the prophecy. Lord. Thy will to ordain. Peace for us. Oh. The.
[22:15] Cross. Of Calvary. And the work. That the Lord Jesus Christ. Accomplished there. Mark it. He alone. The eternal. Son of God.
[22:25] Incarnate. Could ever. Have borne. Such a burden. No one else. Could ever. Have taken. Such a burden. And borne it. And mark this.
[22:36] His sacrifice. Was perfect. Spoken of in scripture. Christ. As holy. Harmless. Spotless. Undefiled. Separate from sinners.
[22:48] This. Was the. Only sacrifice. And here is the. Fulfillment of the word. Who can forgive sins. God only. Here. His dear son.
[22:59] In his. Holy perfection. Having walked this earth. In spotless. Holy obedience. To his father's. Holy law. Went to the cross. Of Calvary.
[23:10] And was obedient. Unto death. Even the death. Of the cross. And we read. He was made sin. For us. Who knew. No sin.
[23:21] That we. Might be made. The righteousness. Of God. In him. As by the. Disobedience. Of one. Many were made.
[23:32] Sinners. So by the. Obedience. Of one. Says the apostle. Shall many. Be made righteous. And what a. Blessed work. Was accomplished.
[23:43] On Calvary's cross. Their. Will. To ordain. Peace. For us. When we view this. From. The. Courts.
[23:54] Of heaven. We see. This. Word. Of scripture. God. So. Loved. The world. That he. Gave. His.
[24:05] Only. Begotten. Son. All. How we see. The God. The father. Ordaining. Peace. For his. Dear. Church. In the gift.
[24:16] Of his. Dear. Son. Sending him. Here. Into this. World. To die. To take away. The guilt. Of sin. And open. The gates. Of heaven.
[24:27] For his. Dear. People. The Lord. Has. Ordained. That peace. The work. Was accomplished. On Calvary's cross. And when we view it.
[24:38] In its entirety here. And its perfection. We see. It not only. Means. The healing. Of the breach. Between God. And his dear people. In the sacred reality of it.
[24:50] In their souls. Here below. But it means. That he will gather them. Into the glorious peace. Of heaven forever. Oh that peace.
[25:03] Which passes. All understanding. Thy. Ought ordain. Peace. For us. There is a bringing together. As we see. In the case of his.
[25:13] Dear servant. The apostle Paul. There was peace. Between the apostle. And God. In the work of Christ.
[25:25] In his heart. He was brought. To be as clay. In the hands. Of the heavenly potter. He was brought down. In obedience.
[25:36] At the throne of mercy. And there. In absolute peace. And sacred submission. He bowed. And begged.
[25:46] For pardon. And forgiveness. And he went forth. And preached. That blessed gospel. That Jesus. Is the Christ. Out of the sweet. Knowledge of it.
[25:58] In his heart. And this text. Goes on. To speak. Lord. They will. To ordain. Peace. For us. For thou. Also. Hast wrought.
[26:09] All our works. In us. Or as the margin. Reads. For us. Thou hast wrought. All our works. In us.
[26:19] Beautiful word. It. Immediately. Lays the axe. To the root. Of all creature religion.
[26:33] Does it not? All the. The completeness. Of this word. All. Thou Lord. Has wrought. All our works.
[26:44] In us. The works. Of God. In the heart. Of his dear people. Are wrought. By God. He is the alpha. And the omega.
[26:55] Of the faith. Of his dear people. He has done. Everything. For them. I would mark. Those works. Thou hast wrought. All. Nothing left out.
[27:05] And you know. If God teach you. You'll want it that way. You'll realize. That everything. That is of the flesh. Everything. That is human.
[27:17] Is carnal. Sinful. Fallen. Worldly. Of the creature. And God will accept. Nothing of it. Oh.
[27:27] How we need. All our works. Acceptable. For glory. To be wrought. In us. By God himself. Beautifully spoken of.
[27:38] You know. In the second chapter. Of the epistle. To the Ephesians. Where. The apostle says. Ye. His workmanship. Created.
[27:49] In Christ Jesus. Unto good works. Which God. Hath before ordained. That ye should walk. In them. Oh. To be. His workmanship. A sinner.
[28:01] Born of God. The Lord told Nicodemus. He started Nicodemus. With the alpha. The beginning. The first step.
[28:11] Of true religion. And it was this. Ye must be born again. And he went on to explain to him. Exactly what the new birth was. And he said this. Except.
[28:22] A man be born. Of water and of the spirit. Cannot enter the kingdom of heaven. And he said. Except a man be born again.
[28:33] He cannot see. The kingdom of God. Oh. Ye must. Be born again. He said Christ. And it's of the spirit. The new birth.
[28:45] Regeneration. Is a work. Of God. The spirit. For thou hast wrought. All our works in us. And how we see. The blessed nature.
[28:57] Of regeneration. It stems. From Christ's work. On Calvary's cross. It stems. From his prayer. That ended the last supper.
[29:07] Before he entered the garden. Of Gethsemane. Father I will. That those whom thou hast given me. Be with me where I am. That they may behold my glory.
[29:19] That prayer has the most beautiful I wills in it. And we see it here. In this precious word here.
[29:31] For thou hast wrought all our works in us. We read in that second chapter. Of the epistle of the Ephesians. Faith is the gift of God.
[29:43] For by grace are ye saved. Saved. Through faith. And that. Not of yourselves. It is the gift of God. Not of works. Not of creature works.
[29:56] Lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship. And the prophet. Had such a blessed view of it. Thou hast wrought.
[30:06] All our works in us. And when we come to look. At that next work. That follows. Regeneration and conversion. We look at justification.
[30:18] The apostle speaks of this. The Lord calls. That is. He calls by grace. His dear people. And whom he calls. He justifies.
[30:30] All the mighty work of God. Is to call. Out of nature's darkness. Into his marvelous light. That work. Of regeneration. But then he justifies.
[30:41] And what does he do? I believe this. He calls them out of nature's darkness. Into a solemn knowledge. Of their fallen and ruined condition.
[30:52] Then he brings them. As Bunyan shows. In his progress. To the cross of Calvary. To the precious fainting. Of that. Blood.
[31:04] That was shed for sin. And all uncleanness. And they are brought to know. The peace speaking. Blood of Christ. Upon their heart and conscience.
[31:15] And there. In that. Blessed work of God. Is justification. Being justified. We read. By his grace. That is his mercy.
[31:25] His sovereign grace. Through the redemption. That is the shedding. Of the precious blood. That is in Christ Jesus. Oh. The price. That was paid.
[31:36] To deliver. His dear church. Out of the bondage. Of Satan. And of sin. Into the glorious liberty. Of the children of God. It was redemption. Christ.
[31:47] Paid that price. His own. Heart's blood. And in doing so. He redeemed. His dear church. They were bought. With a price. They could say.
[31:59] Like. His dear servant. Job. I know. That my. Redeemer. Liveth. And though worms. Destroy. This body.
[32:10] In my flesh. Shall I see God. That is redemption. Body and soul. Bought with a price. Saved. From eternal death.
[32:21] And darkness. And gathered to heaven. To be with Christ. Thou hast wrought. All our works.
[32:32] In us. And the next work. That the Lord. Will work. In his dear people. Is the mighty work. Of sanctification. His.
[32:43] Divine purpose. As we read of it. In the. Eighth chapter. Of the. Epistle of Paul. To the Romans. He has a. Sacred purpose.
[32:54] In bringing. His. Church. To glory. And we. Read of it. That whom. He did. For no. He also. Did predestinate. To be conformed.
[33:06] To the image. Of his son. Oh. How. When. He brings. His dear people. Into the path.
[33:17] Of justification. Before. Before. They are brought. To glory. They have to walk out. Solemnly. That path. Of sanctification. We read.
[33:31] Of it. In scripture. In the fifth chapter. Of the. Epistle of Paul. To the Romans. We read. Of this. Blessed pathway. We glory. In tribulations.
[33:42] Knowing. That tribulation. Worketh. Patience. And. Patience. Experience. And. Experience. Hope. And. Hope. Make. Is not ashamed.
[33:52] Because. The love of Christ. Is shed abroad. In the heart. That's the path. Of sanctification. The Lord. Will bring. His dear. Church. Into the.
[34:03] Fiery trials. Of tribulation. That they. May be. Brought down. And made. As clay. In the hands. Of the heavenly potter. And be brought.
[34:13] Into. Paths. Of obedience. And made. Like their master. Or he will. And there are no paths.
[34:25] Like the. Fiery furnace. We read of it in scripture. Think it not strange. Concerning. Says the apostle. The fiery trial.
[34:35] That is to try you. As though some strange thing. Had happened unto you. But rejoice. Inasmuch. As ye are made. Partakers.
[34:47] Of the. Sufferings of Christ. What a truth. To be made a partaker. Of the sufferings of Christ. And in their measure.
[34:58] The Lord will lay. Solemn. Sacred. Blessed. Crucifying. Sorrows. Into the pathway. Of his dear people.
[35:10] And. Bring them. To. That. Conformity. To his. Blessed image. And bring them down.
[35:20] Into sweet. To his. To his. And submission. To his. Holy mind. And will. And here we have this. Precious truth. Thou wilt work.
[35:32] Thou hast wrought. All our works. In us. When the Lord. Works. Those. Mighty works.
[35:43] Of sanctification. In the hearts. Of his dear people. We see. What it produces. Tribulation. Work is patience. And patience.
[35:55] Experience. And experience. Hope. The hope of God's dear people. Is wrought out. In the fiery.
[36:07] Trials of experience. Patience. Is wrought out. In the fiery trials. The beauty. Of that lovely word.
[36:17] Spoken to by Naomi. Sit still. My daughter. That was sanctification. And it came. Through three open graves. In Moab.
[36:31] She'd never sat still. When she went to Moab. But now. When she came home. She had learnt. And the fiery trials. Had done their work. And there we see her.
[36:44] Blessed counsel. To Ruth. Sit still. My daughter. We preached. At Allington. On Sunday afternoon. Be still.
[36:55] And know. That I am God. Oh. It is the path. Of sanctification. God brings. His dear people.
[37:06] And what does it give with it? Hope. Hope. Hope. Oh. The hope. Of God's dear people. And you know. Beautifully spoken of. In the scriptures. In this way.
[37:17] Which hope. We have. As an anchor of the soul. Both sure. And steadfast. And which enters into that. Within the veil.
[37:28] Whither the forerunner. Is for us entered. Even Jesus. Oh. How. God's dear people. Have a blessed hope. Of glory. It is divinely.
[37:40] Wrought out by God. It is the work. Of his spirit. In the heart. In sanctification. Which hope. We have. It is like.
[37:50] The spider's web. The world looks on. And thinks. How fragile. How fragile. How fragile. But the spider's web.
[38:00] Is a mighty. Strong web. I have watched them. In gales. Blowing through them. Mighty winds. It doesn't blow. A spider's web away. And the hope. Of God's dear people.
[38:11] In the great winds. Of adversity. And the storms. Of life. And the final. Great storm. Of death. Will not be blown away. Which hope. We have.
[38:22] As an anchor. Of the soul. The world looks on. And thinks. How strange. But here. Is the blessed truth. And we might. Notice this.
[38:33] Thou hast wrought. All our works in us. God has done it. They're his work. The hope of God's dear people. Is a divine work. And it will never be destroyed.
[38:46] And the apostle says. Regarding that hope. I know. In whom. I have believed. And am persuaded. That he is able.
[38:57] To keep that. Which I have committed. Under him. Against that day. He says. For me to live is Christ. And to die is gain.
[39:09] That is. He has known the Lord. Here below. In the precious sweetness. And power. Of his blood. In his heart. For me to live is Christ.
[39:20] And to die is gain. And he finally comes. In that last letter. To Timothy. To say. I'm now ready. To depart. I fought a good fight.
[39:32] The time of my departure. Is at hand. I finished my course. There is laid up for me. A crown of righteousness. Which God. The righteous judge. Shall give me. And not to me only.
[39:43] But to all them. That love. Is appearing. Lord. Thou wilt. Ordain peace.
[39:54] For us. For thou hast brought. All our works. In us. It is in the hearts. Of God's dear people.
[40:05] That these precious. Works. Are wrought out. A sweet. Knowledge. Of his precious blood. His justifying righteousness.
[40:17] In the soul. And. A precious hope. Of glory. Amen. Amen.
[40:28] Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen.
[40:44] Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen.
[40:55] Amen. Amen.
