Bath - Bethel

A Mrs M Simms generously defrayed the cost of building Bethel Chapel in the 1880s. She and others had left Ebenezer Chapel, Widcombe. The last services in the Walcot Street Chapel were in May 1970. Services were held in Corn Market until the present Chapel was built in 1973. The Chapel is also the home of the Evangelical Library West. There was another Chapel in Bath called Providence, one of the pastors being a Mr. E Carr. This building was bombed in the Second World War and subsequently the congregation joined with the Bethel Chapel.
