[0:00] The Book of Deuteronomy chapter 29 with the Lord's help. We will speak from the last word.
[0:13] Book of Deuteronomy chapter 29 and verse 29. The secret thing has belonged unto the Lord our God.
[0:30] But those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children forever. That we may do all the words of this Lord.
[0:47] The secret things belong unto the Lord our God. And those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children forever.
[1:02] Forever. That we may do all the words of this Lord. Moses calls this covenant.
[1:14] Besides that which was made in Mount Horus. The covenant. By the Lord.
[1:25] Covenant him with his people to fulfill all that he has promised. Beals to them that in this covenant there are sacred tables. And revealable tables.
[1:38] And those things have been known. He does not care more to his people. It is a good word this word belong.
[1:54] It is so true of the Lord of the Rick. Her everyday agreement. It is not that one. Your covenant with your wife belongs to you.
[2:12] And it is for you to honor it. And according to its content. Until death thus do part.
[2:25] And that is the final prayer. But in this. We have the. Right of.
[2:37] Covenant of God. For his people. Set out before us. In his two parts. The sacred things.
[2:48] And revealed things. Now Moses wrote this. In this distant day. When. So much more. Has been revealed.
[3:00] That we can look at it. How this arise. And what equals. We know what lay in this.
[3:12] Thanks to the covenant. We know that it was due. In this kind. To the. To the way. Because of it.
[3:24] Being entirely ineffective. Through the. For the. For the. Sin. And disobedience. And idolatry. Of the people. It was a testimony.
[3:38] A covenant. And. It was a witness. Okay. To. To. To. Complete proof.
[3:48] That they. Could not. Obey. These. Commands. Which. God. Gave them. And they.
[3:59] Failed. As Paul says. For what. The law. Could not do. In that it was. Weak. Through the faith. The gospel.
[4:12] Is a witness. And that. Similarly. Is to be. Preached. Among all nations. For. A. Witness. Unclarment.
[4:25] And so. It is. Proved to be. Unclarment. And this. Blessed gospel. Now revealed. Is. Utterly.
[4:37] Rejected. By. Man. And yet. It is. Revealed. In this. Particular. Aspect.
[4:48] Of it. That there are. Those. Taken. From. Fallen. Man. The worst. Of character. Many of them. Irrespective. Of who they are.
[5:00] And. Brought to life. So. If we look now. Upon these things. Of what is. Half-growing. And the. Closing stages.
[5:11] Of this. Critical world. Our forefathers. Said. Saying. We have every. Justification. In time.
[5:22] The same. They were wrong. We may be. Equally wrong. With the. Signs.
[5:33] Of their time. You. Who read. Of the earlier days. Of the church. Of God. Know well enough. That they. Spoke of the.
[5:45] Sad. Heaven's time. You know. That. You know. Well enough. That. Today. We. Born. The.
[5:57] Perilous. Times. In which. We. Live. Perilous. Gospel. Wise. That means. They are.
[6:07] Perilous. Always. Have been. With regard. To. Physical. Illness. Illness. Accident. And alive. But as regards.
[6:19] Truth. In Jesus. They are. Sorrowly. Perilous. Because. The.
[6:29] Enemy. Is. So. Sorrowly. As he ever has been. In his working. That. That. It is. Possible. To be. Deceived.
[6:41] In fact. Jesus. And. Charles. Said. That if. It. Were. Possible. I.
[6:51] Would. Deceive. The. Very. Delect. And. Who. These. Closely. Safe. Guarded. People. Are.
[7:02] The. Very. Elect. Is. A. Tremendous. Question. But. There's. Certainly. Not. A. Handful. If.
[7:15] You. Read. The. Volume. Of. The. Heavenly. Chorus. The. Lair. Lair. Lair. Lair. In. The. The. Revelations.
[7:25] The. Life. Of. John. You. Will. See. That. It. Was. What. Would. Be. Called. Today. A. Thunderous. Hallelujah. Or.
[7:36] A. Glow. So. We. Are. No. Believers. In. The. Narrowness. Of. The. Number. Are.
[7:47] There. Few. That. They. Say. Is. A. Question. Good. Jesus. He. Didn't. Answer. It. Correctly. So.
[7:59] With. Regard. For. This. Number. It. Is. An. Unknown. Number. One. And. What. A. Very. Glorious.
[8:09] Revelation. This. That. Countless. Men. May. Assume. For. Themselves.
[8:21] A. Rightness. It. Does. Be. Laugh. For. There. Is. Only. One. Great. Revelation. Today.
[8:33] To. Kept secret. From the beginning of the world. As Paul tells us. And that is. Person. The work. The.
[8:44] Sacrifice. The resurrection. And now. The. Mediation. And the. Control. The high court of heaven.
[8:57] Of the Lord Jesus. Bespoke of him last. Now. But. With. The connection with Stephen. How he saw. The heavens open.
[9:08] He saw standing. The right hand of the father. How the people were. Filled with enmity. Stop.
[9:20] There he is. Put their fingers in there he is. How he. There he is. How the. Maul. The方.iva. Shed a this.
[9:31] The man. and strode him. And he cried, Lay not this thing to their child. Moses never saw things like this.
[9:49] As far as he went, and his day of 120 years was long comparatively with those days.
[10:00] And he came to an end. And though he begged to see that goodly Lebanon at the end of his life, God let him, he was never permitted to go over the river Jordan and enter the land of Kate.
[10:19] At the same time, it has this to say by divine inspiration that there are things that are revealed which belong unto us.
[10:34] And not only unto us, but unto our children. It's of course, like this, a matter of generation to generation.
[10:44] And this is where God has determined to bring his people, as a pellet to the generation that follow.
[10:56] That is why children are praised for, and young people earnestly, long over. and why we rejoice to see a change of heart in them, and call by grace, and their feet turned away from the withinness of this world.
[11:22] That is why Zion loves lands in the cold, and pays attention to them.
[11:37] It is the example of the older ones that is of such importance. and they cannot just walk, anyhow, they must have an example.
[11:54] If your parents didn't take an example, you would not have much ground to stand on, would you? If you did not meet those who were, were, strong in the pain, you would not know what it was to stand firm, and see how they abide by the things of God.
[12:26] Father, Moses is declaring a profound truth, and, like all of God's servants, he had his work to do in his day.
[12:43] He had his life to live, he was called to serve it, he served God thanks for that, God doubted him in, in, in, in, justice, and his mercy.
[13:06] And he was, uh, God's faithful servant, raised up from nothing, saved when obeyed from, uh, death, in that, uh, little ark, in the, in the bulrushes of the Nile, brought to serve God in, uh, uh, uh, three sections of his life.
[13:35] Forty years in the king of, uh, Egypt's palace, where he was learned in all their wisdom.
[13:47] Forty years in the desert, uh, a strange contrast indeed, if you like. And then forty years to lead God's people through the wilderness.
[14:06] And after that, he finished. He saw the, uh, many, many changes. And therefore, God put into his lips these words that are still not more to know, still secret things to come out.
[14:30] And those secret things had much to do with Moses. And they were, uh, apparently secret. Because he didn't really know what the, uh, sacrifices of the, uh, temple, uh, contained.
[14:53] He did not really know what the, uh, high priest, his brother Aaron, did his eye. He did not know what that, uh, blood that flowed and flowed really meant.
[15:12] Although, uh, he saw it in time and channel. We have lived to see that it was the person of Christ, that movable tabernacle he took within, those, uh, holy, uh, instruments of worship, that guiding pillar and cloud, that shekinah glory, that mercy thing.
[15:47] His life was pound up in them, yet, uh, there is so much more to be revealed. religion. Now, God's people believe in a revealed religion, something that God shows them.
[16:16] Now, this draws a clear distinction between what man teaches and this is a starting point with regard to vital godliness.
[16:35] it is the same with every sermon of God in the Bible.
[16:49] God begins with that. Little Samuel's mother is found, uh, crying for, uh, her son, who is God.
[17:04] the Lord revealed himself to Samuel. Not Samuel revealed himself to God.
[17:18] You can take it where you like or where you will. God is first. And, uh, do away with this and you sweep away everything.
[17:34] so that what you and I know about, uh, the truth and the revelation of the, uh, gospel is from God.
[17:48] Uh, it may be augmented by our reading. It should be. It can be. There's enough for it to choose from. God. But I hope religion will not do.
[18:04] What you have to learn is by, uh, walking through it and experiencing it. And it is there that you will find that the things of God are discovered.
[18:20] it was the same as Moses. Who would have ever thought that they could have got through the Red Sea? That veritable barrier between them was opened up and through that way.
[18:48] Who would ever thought they could have been sustained for the years as he mentioned in the wilderness. It isn't what we think beforehand.
[19:00] It's what God does afterhand. Some of us can see now as at the stage where we look back over life. That's a state of maturity.
[19:15] Some of you are halfway through life the normal pattern life who can look back on that path of it and not more. Those that come to the end of the journey can look back.
[19:36] and I stand while him writer says with Christ in glory and looking all life's finished glory then Lord shall I fully know not for them how much I ask.
[19:58] this is normal but it's experienced and it is for this reason that God keeps things back and sacred and still there are secrets with him not to yet unfolded but as far as Moses went the application of his truth in that day which he spoke how pure it was that the things that are revealed belong to him.
[20:43] If we look at one of those things I've had a strange experience with this text I had it on my mind all the week and forgot it and forgot it he made that trail to account explode and it wasn't you this morning that I was able suddenly to remember it and I believe this the Lord intended that I should have no forethought on this next of all what I say to you die is new to me as it is to you as we can't any parents report that some of the things that Moses had revealed with him are still with us today and those things will stand for the end of time the wilderness of course that he makes it quite clear that
[22:29] God kept them on short comment in the wilderness that they might know man does not live by bread over it by every word that proceeded out of the mouth of God they were guided and provided for in a very remarkable way God guided his whole choice and so desirable isn't it what an essential thing it is to be led in the right way as Psalm 107 says and look at the amazing things that came to pass in Moses personal guidance when Pharaoh's daughter was pah paying down to pay it a little
[23:33] Pharaoh's daughter she's well aware of the will of her father that the Hebrew children should be destroyed the boys and yet she's touched by this weak big child in the little ark of Woolworth the people who are the people who are we don't read anything about this from the lips of those but some of our choicest memories go right back as far as we can remember come as far as you can remember you may well remember some of the little things in your early life that soften your heart because it never referred to it that it was
[24:47] God's gracious overruling hand and foot and that guiding pillar and cloud got larger and larger had been important not of course inside and they got into the wilderness there that's all they had but they had now now look at God amazing providences this the wonder working hand of God in our lives and you have got to shy of them that you had nothing to do with it it was the overruling hand of God that brought it about it was revealed the revelation of these things in providence is gradual very gradual discovery that this is the right thing to do the right way to go and subsequent events bring confirmation how troubled you may be
[26:31] Moses was we read Stephen's apology last Sabbath concerning the life of Moses when he intervened between the two warriors that were fighting and it was the means of him fleeing into Egypt or are I been into the wilderness leaving Pharaoh's palace heaven returned things that are revealed become wonderful providence and that providence contains in it the inner revelation of God's purposes of love and mercy to you found the lovely lovely lovely wonderful water
[27:34] I might seem all awry I did to Moses the very first place they came to water they found was bitter waters of mara and all the mischievous things where yours lets Called Now you look back then, take a retrospective view of what, ten years? Yes, that'll do.
[28:30] Go back ten years of your life. See where you are today. What has happened in the intervening period?
[28:49] How different is it? What has God revealed?
[29:00] Has He unfolded a purpose of love and mercy? Have you been in deep sorrow?
[29:12] Have you been in grief, life fruitful? Have you feel your life in ruins?
[29:26] Have you felt that everything has come directly contrary to you? And I was still going to say on this that He may get no mistakes.
[29:46] All the deep mysteries of this pathway are far too intricately even attempted to trace out.
[30:00] But you will know your own pathway. And it belongs to you. It's yours. Now whose hand is it?
[30:14] As I'd like to know, I expect you good. Let us put it another way. Whose hand do you believe it in? Who do you feel has brought you thus far?
[30:30] Why are you where you are and what you are? Why shouldn't you have got an entirely different course?
[30:46] And why should your course now be so set as the mariner's compass? You cannot alter it. And shall I add this?
[31:00] Would not if you could. Would not if you could. You cannot хотя long, God didn't give him a map and a time table and say that he would be there at a certain time and day.
[31:49] He didn't tell him what the menu would be for six weeks ahead. He didn't tell him what rebellious people there would be and even how Miriam his sister would rise up against him, Paul Aaron his brother and say, oh, you have no right to do this.
[32:18] He let them fall day by day. And that daily leading is revealed to us in the Gospel as the vital part of the Christian core.
[32:37] The Christian time for the day. And this leading is still promised and still revealed.
[32:49] And if there were no such thing as divine leading, then our hearts would indeed see that Moses had to pray, shall I say, to put it in holy language his way along.
[33:08] He had such problems. And they were so portent. And he realised, he had portentous of them, that they often sunk him in a place where he questioned God's dealing with him.
[33:30] And he said, if now I have found grace in thy sight, show me in thy glory, he said for one day.
[33:43] And the Lord caused all his goodness. He promised to cause all his goodness to pass before him in the way.
[33:58] And he said, you know, you know, you know, much about this reading as I do. How Moses had to make his way along.
[34:10] Now how, trying to pass in your circumstances absolutely nice.
[34:22] You see, you might have known from a child that you heard Christ.
[34:35] You might have heard your parents. And you might have been brought up under the roof. Or something else. To know that contact with the over is a possibility.
[34:49] But now you've got to know it. You've got to do it. You've got to commit your way.
[35:03] And look how it's been wrong for you, doesn't it? Not another soul can you call in to your assistance to guide your children.
[35:18] Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest thou, Israel? My way is hid from the Lord, and my judgment is passed over from my God.
[35:30] That's where you may be today. And yet, under divine leading. Precious leading.
[35:42] And some of us are saying, when will you have said that very thing? Hast thou not known, hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, fainteth not neither his will, there is no searching of his understanding.
[36:04] You read it in Isaiah's prophecy. What are you going to say to this, then? The things that will reveal belong in a very precious way.
[36:24] That is just one thing with regard to God's gracious leading of his servant Moses.
[36:35] Moses had to pray his way along. Then he had to stand in the breeze. To find a fair word on this, there was rebellion in the town.
[36:53] foremos. Whoever have stayed at the fire, the apostle Abraham is simply godsnail. He batised back into the cave.
[37:05] Pharaoh, the apostle Abraham, he squandered back into the cave. A cliff, the apostle Abraham asked ourselves, but hereofちゃん, And Moses had to walk through it.
[37:22] And God called them to the door of the tethernacle tent, and there the earth opened and swallowed these men out at a most solemn judgment.
[37:36] But William Huntington called the Naked Bow of God.
[37:49] And naked it was, it was a day that he was removed from this path. You may have very solemn opposition up against you.
[38:06] Very solemn. Opposition that brings you to that place that unless the Lord appear for you, then all in your judgment will be lost.
[38:25] God revealed how he could silence the enemies at most, put them to shame, pass them into hell, for the earth opened and swallowed them up.
[38:44] Tremendous thing you know, if you think about it. Striped terror in the hearts of those who saw it. And so it is.
[38:57] In this, therefore, Moses is speaking from experience. So am I. In my little means.
[39:11] It is this that matters, therefore, with regard to the things which are revealed.
[39:24] And so, Moses, Moses was so irritated and annoyed at the waters of Nebuchadnezzar, that he sends free to them.
[39:46] Must we bring water out of this rocky rebel? God told him to speak to the rock and he strikes him.
[39:57] And the poor man is penalized. God says, God says, He will never enter the promised land, Moses.
[40:09] And he carried that with him for the rest of his life. And God deals with his people.
[40:25] He reveals his power. We can see why Moses was about in the land of Cain. Typically, the Gospel knows nothing about the law, except the fulfilled law.
[40:44] We do not take Moses into the Gospel to say, Thou shalt not, thou shalt not, thou shalt not.
[40:57] The law is fulfilled by Christ. And that law is doubly honored by God's people. They don't say, Oh, well, I can do that right now.
[41:11] They are doubly bound by the court of divine love.
[41:22] To honor God's ancient law fulfilled in Christ. Did Christ honor it? Did he make it honorable? So was they.
[41:35] And not territoriously. His merits alone are those which provide. Though with the thing that is revealed now, we see gracious Moses, as he stood on the Mount of Transfiguration with the Lord Jesus, and spoke of his death.
[42:05] Moses, who never entered the punishment. The type of the Lord, Christ's Father, which is now revealed to us in the Gospel as abundantly fulfilled.
[42:27] So that you are not under the law. Says that gracious man, Paul. You are not under it.
[42:39] People say, but you are under it. You don't like this world here. Well, Moses said, God has to do high to perceive.
[42:51] And hear to hear what he is doing with you. You don't understand it. And so with the Gospel, how many there are.
[43:05] And say, yes, but we are under the law. We've got to live according to the law. Of course we have. And you are not under the law. Perhaps not meritorious.
[43:17] You just cannot go out and commit adultery and wipe your mouth and say like the whore does, Ha ha, it is nothing, can you?
[43:28] To quote the scripture. Of course you do. Why not? Because. And only because.
[43:39] And always because. That law is fulfilled in Christ. And break it you will never. And preserve Christ as grace.
[43:52] You do not. Thus we see the combination. But the ancient Lord Moses.
[44:04] And still he says to the people. The secret things. Belong unto the Lord our God.
[44:15] For the things that are revealed belong. For it is scattered with marks. I hope there may be some. See, pours the ground.
[44:28] And I can assure you. I'm not the. Smutting souls of. Patrick Wano. Okay. Thank you.
