[0:00] I will attend all your attention to this 106th Psalm, verses 45.
[0:18] Remember me, O Lord, with the favor that thou bearish unto thy people.
[0:31] O visit me with thy salvation, that I may feel the good of thy chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of thy nation, that I may glory with thy inheritance.
[0:50] Psalm 106, verses 4 and 5. This is a comprehensive prayer.
[1:05] It embraces the whole compass of salvation. And a blessed is that sinner, in whose heart is this desire.
[1:23] And they call it a promise attached to it. The Lord will fulfill the desire of them that fear him.
[1:33] And really, that desire in the 27th Psalm is the same purpose.
[1:47] One thing, have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after. And it's exactly the same thing that Jesus taught Martha.
[2:02] Martha, Martha, there are careful and troubled about many things. One thing is needful. And so, from time to time, through the word of God, our attention is drawn to the all-sufficient day that there is in Christ.
[2:28] In Christ, in Christ, in Christ, in Christ, in Christ, God is proving that all God is clean.
[2:46] appetite and feel this prayer right up in their hearts as we were singing that second blessed hymn is we felt righteous well well all the way through the wilderness well in their worst conditions in their most acute pains in their most grievous losses and where when they are called to die oh truly happy are thou oh israel who is like unto thee oh people saved by other lord so there are many of those dear people who have this desire in their hearts about they feel that it remains a desire they see the uh the uh the uh the um favor and that the lord's people of left with and uh they see the uh joy of salvation uh that as they experience and they know that there is a god of this chosen and the gladness of this nation and uh they have an aching void if it was fit oh this text would fill that aching void they seem to want everything and that so they've got nothing whether on the road is this desire is in your heart by the spirit it must be fulfilled in honor and it is true such a stake to tell me and remember me oh lord with a favor thou bearest unto thy people to give us though the eyes of a poor sinner that realizes that there is in the fullness of christ that everything that can save him everything that can satisfy soul and that he expands as it were by the eye of faith or those spiritual blessings that are in heavenly places in christ jesus and realizes that if he is destitute of those things then whatever he possesses is destitute to all eternity destitute of life goes through the world without god and without hope and therefore it is an urgency to his faith so remember me oh lord so it's a favor that thou bearest unto thy people and then there are other favors that they enjoy in a divine worship that is a spiritual favors in worship when in worship the lord draws near and in worship the lord draws near and it draws out of the heart and gives you to find in your brave soul and your soul falling hard after him
[6:47] and then the holy spirit influences the great atmosphere of the sanctuary and uh transforms you for a little time by the renewing of your mind and every other influence now is it is power and you're gathered up gathered up in the spirituality of mind and the great spirit of the spirit are in exercise and operate in your soul brokenness, humility and love and to be able to have a favor of oh what a favor that is unless we cannot command ourselves i know it is painful to feel a helplessness unless my friends it's far better than to have an automatic religion that you can manipulate yourself as much teaching even in bondage with respect of his people he will teach them continually their utter dependence upon him and that the source of all salvation the source of all spiritual blessings are in christ and that the source of all salvation is in the world we have to make a big mistake to look into ourselves to find that we can only be owned and received from christ himself and all how it does expand and it increases and expands as you are more and more instructed in the balance of what you are in the universal destitution as it is in your nature that there's not a pot of spiritual water of life that there's nothing whatever except death and yet by the same teaching your dreams led brought to truly hunger and thirst and long after salvation and now and then as some little dreams break through the cloud we give you a little glimpse of that that is within the veil that it is in the gospel of his grace and bring this desire into your heart to remember me oh lord in those favors the of which uh uh uh they'll be uh until a die of people i've read in this afternoon uh that uh uh uh case of moses in blessing the tribes of israel as you know in the uh 33rd chapter of uh new toronomy each of them had a blessing and then the summing up was this happy abel o israel who is like unto thee o people saved by the lord they're the only happy people on earth weary with true happiness they're the only rich people if they were a porpoise in a warthouse they're rich what made that jesus more honorable than his brethren could not have been in his social position for they were brethren but it was a grace that he posed as
[10:49] the life of god in his soul and you see he had the same desire oh that there was this blessing indeed and enlarge my toast and so uh this living desire will be brought in the heart of every one of his people with such a sweetness in it you'll feel the life of the portion and it makes christ precious you'll see in him that we just never find in the world and a capacity to receive those spiritual blessings is the work of the spirit in the heart it's a mercy to have such a capacity to receive those spiritual blessings remember me oh lord with the favor that thou bearest until as i thy people did he just mention the emphasis upon thy to thy people thy salvation thy chosen and in the 27th psalm perhaps you'll notice just the same thing to the sweet harmony through the word of god but what is more important is whether there's a harmony in your soul experience to these days as the word of god listen listen lead me show me thy ways oh lord teach me thy path lead me thy truth and teach me for thou art the god of my salvation remember me remember oh lord thy tender mercies thy loving kindnesses for they have been ever of old so this so this all is centered in uh the person of god's eternal son and he came in this fullness for when his father sent him how shall he not also with him and give you all things and oh my friends the fullness of all is in the lord jesus and therefore his people partake of his goodness they partake of his goodness he is the fullness of creation his sovereignty controls all providence and his sovereign grace is that which will be made effective in the salvation of every one of his people oh visit me with thy salvation and this clause of the text really takes in the whole of the scripture from genesis to from genesis to revelation it's all his salvation and what salvation is and if there was more to hell and then the holy ghost will work it in it's a kingdom it's a kingdom of salvation really with it and so
[14:52] this is the psalmist here could not be content where they're just reading about salvation because as we said this morning he had known what condemnation is the two things that never go together if you'll never know what condemnation is in your experience you'll never know and you'll never want to know anything about salvation live with me with thy salvation and the adeptification is when the holy spirit takes the things of jesus by which he saves his people he takes those things and shows them he doesn't show them like we would show a portion of something and then take it back when he shows his salvation he leads that salvation to the favored sinner to whom he shows him there's one way just a blessing of being in union with the lord jesus he says when he speaks he speaks what he says into the soul it becomes a substance the secret of the lord is with them that hear him and he will show them his salvation and he is the holy ghost that shows him and that reveals the things of god so that he takes of the righteousness of the lord jesus and that is really the whole of salvation the included righteousness of the lord jesus brings everything into the heart that is saving and sanctifying as we mentioned this morning it is based upon the blessed doctrine of substitution as human to re Или by capitalism asish
[17:30] I losing Akkad argue that in evangelism Jeb Estamos Jeb mainly to salvation. Now there are those things and that condition from which a sinner is saved.
[18:00] There are those blessed things unto which and into which they are saved. Salvation is not like rescuing a man from a shipwreck and standing him down on the foreshore and saying now that you are safe in that wreckage you can get on.
[18:21] No. Oh salvation is from the ruins of the poor. It is salvation from their own self destruction.
[18:33] It is the salvation out of the mawriks pay of the pollution of their own nature. A salvation from indwelling sin, nor internal and internal enemies.
[18:49] It is a salvation into the Lord Jesus. A salvation into the eternal indifferential union of within.
[19:00] In such a way as all that he is, for all that he became, for all the work that he has accomplished with his peoples.
[19:11] They are complete in him and accepted in the love. It is salvation. The Lord Jesus. Visit me with thy salvation. Thy salvation. There are a lot of kinds of salvation in the religious world.
[19:29] But it is thy people and thy salvation. They will be jealous over it. And all that love is in this desire, in this prayer.
[19:43] And after the Lord Jesus. And this desire goes out under them. Will be made willing to suffer all things for his name.
[19:58] And I feel one of the most expanding and precious examples of this desire. Is in the third chapter to the Philippians.
[20:10] Remember me, O Lord, with a favour. Thou fairies unto thy people. Visit me to thy salvation. For I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord.
[20:28] For whom I have suffered the loss of all things. And do count them but dumb. That I may win Christ. And be found in him.
[20:40] That salvation. All that in flowing are in. And there is a sweetness in your desire. I feel persuaded that you cannot desire a thing without receiving some element of the thing you desire.
[20:57] You must taste it. You must know it. So don't desire the desire. It is a desire that the Holy Ghost my friends.
[21:12] It will be fulfilled. And I would say it with reverence. It is the responsibility of the Lord Jesus that it is fulfilled. It was undeniable.
[21:27] I look cautiouslynotish, we must do thou mistressed my bzw. Oh, vividly. Every thought that salvation would count. I do. Jimena says that it is that it is to be saved in as a Lord with an everlasting salvation. To be saved by this imputed righteousness.
[21:39] with an everlasting salvation. To be saved by his intuitive righteousness. To be saved from death by his life.
[21:53] To be saved from a condemnation by his resurrection. Death is a sentence of condemnation.
[22:06] The Lord suffered it for his people. He was condemned to death. As a shorty, as a substitute. And his condemnation was just.
[22:20] Because he was a substitute. He hath made him to be sinned for his people. That they might be made for the righteousness of God in him.
[22:35] Visit me with it. And yet, it's a wonderful thing, when you come to consider, that we're only little specks.
[22:47] Don't take that much room in the world or in the feet. and yet this little speck is depraved the dark contagion fills the flames and strips the poison to the heart and yet the Lord Jesus has come in order as a walk out of eternal salvation by this everlasting righteousness as I have a perfect obedience in satisfying the Lord God as salvation oh that it might flow like a river and bring Calvary peace into a poor troubled sinner's heart and that I may see the gourd of thy chosen when he does see the gourd of it by faith otherwise he would not pray for it what is the gourd of thy chosen why it is to be interested in sovereign election the 65th Psalm explains this blessed is the man whom thou choosest and causest to approach unto thee he shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thyself and all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ are bestowed upon his people according to that rule according as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world
[24:45] O visit me with thy salvation that I may see the gourd of thy chosen of course the good of his chosen is salvation you take that wonderful world of persecutius there he was when he went out to see this notable person he had no grace he just came out of curiosity but it was an appointed time and the Lord said that he hath made haste and come down for till day I must abide in thy house and when the Pharisees complained he said you have it right it's a beautiful place it's a beautiful place there and when the Lord Jesus came to the place he looked up and saw him and said
[26:17] Zacchaeus may face and come down for today I must abide in the high house and and Jesus said on him this day what a day this would be in the answer to the text in the answer to the text Jesus said on him this day this day his salvation come to this house for so much as he also did a son of Abraham or what a visit it would be in the Lord's fame today he looks upon his people he knows those in his chapel that are his knows those that are here who live don't know that they are his we must hear maybe one that is speaking and stand at us pray the prayer of the text he came to that tree and knew that Zacchaeus was there and he may know that there's some poor sinner in one of these pews the wonderful thing it would be that he should go to that person and say that this day salvation has come to thy house into thy heart oh my friend and may we be given as such a sense of hope with sacredness any importance and solemnity and blessedness of salvation as not to be satisfied until the Lord visits us with us that I may be the God of thy chosen so that the good of the Lord's chosen is that they have the promise of the life the spiritual life that now is and of that it is to come and not only so but the good of his chosen is this and the kingdom of grace within and therefore as all things belong to them they have the good of things surrounded by the divine perfections of Jehovah and they have the goodness and blessing of every every gospel promise in the scriptures belongs to them and they have this goodness of a guaranteed if I might so speak a guaranteed faith transport through the wilderness so heavenly hell that I may see the good of thy chosen for not only so they have the good of the greatest of the spirit in their heart spiritual humility and love and faith and hope and they have the good of his chosen access to the throne of grace a reverend that's safe with familiarity with the Lord Jesus
[30:18] oh my friend I I I feel I feel ashamed of my unacquaintedness with the Lord you're acquainted with everything and everybody else but are we acquainted with him and the priesthood is included as well you know that long approximately filled it had a description of all the different compartments in the city the chambers for the priest the ornaments that sacrifices go right up the end and then there's four words which gather up the whole and more than the whole of the description of the city and the temple and there was four words of these and the Lord was there that they covered it all and the Lord was there all that belongs to his people what a mercy if it can be said that only by us but confirmed by the Lord himself as we meet together the Lord is there what a mercy if it can be said for for any individual the Lord is there what a solemn thing if it is otherwise that it is goodness oh visit me with thy salvation that I may see the good of thy chosen that I may rejoice in the gladness of thy nations
[32:26] I think the thirty third psalm just explains this let's see in the nation whose God is Lord and the people whom he has chosen for his inheritance for his own inheritance he in those two statements is the whole of his church blessed is the nation and that nation is the whole of the election of grace it's the Lord's nation it's his kingdom and the people whom he has chosen for his inheritance that I may rejoice in the gladness of thy nation who really is the gladness of a nation of God's people however the gladness is based upon as a sovereign grace saving grace sanctifying grace sanctifying grace sanctifying grace regenerating grace the whole of the person and work of the Lord Jesus and that this gladness of his nation is when the Holy Spirit so reveals the things of God that your meditation of him is sweet 34th psalm my meditation my meditation of him shall be sweet
[34:26] I will be glad in the Lord this is a wonderful experience an exercise of soul do you ever have that meditation you see you cannot meditate without thinking but you can't think without meditating two different things the gladness of thy nation my meditation of him shall be sweet I will be glad in the Lord that we said this morning about the nations of the word of God that there's no power in it no efficacy in it rejoice it is the gladness of thy nation the word if our religion is merely mental then the whole of our experience is just a theory for instance the difference between meditation and mere study is like this you may have a cookery book to learn how to cook you may study that and that will never satisfy your hunger you won't feed and that in command and that in command is feed the flock of Christ the flock of slaughter that is among you and therefore you will rejoice with his nation when in meditation there is a direct connection between what you read of salvation in Christ and the blessings that are in heaven a connection between that and the aking void that the spirit has made in your heart and that in heaven you will oh you will hunger and thirst for the living God and therefore you will want food you will know what it is because the tempest and not comforted you will need the Lord Jesus to be a father a strong habitation and you will rejoice with his nation rejoice to the inept in a nation and there is a king in all his sovereignty you will rejoice in the sovereignty of the Lord Jesus the sovereignty of his grace you will rejoice in all his divine sacrifice on you they are your refuge your support they are those chambers into which his people are invited the same people come my people enter thou into thy chambers and shut thy doors behind thee and hide thyself a little moment until the indignation be overpassed and you rejoice in the house
[38:27] chambers rejoice and exalt in the Lord Jesus and his place of defense obeys a new mission of rocks another new mission of rocks and his life is the divine perfection and attributes of the over and they sustain his nation and will declare and rejoice in it and all the security of it what a wish there is and even to his desire there is such a life in it that there is a going out of itself into all that the Lord Jesus is and you feel such a completeness in him and you could acknowledge yourself in Jesus Christ and the sufficiency in him to swallow all you are to swallow all your condemnation in his blessed death and his glorious resurrection and that I may glory in his inheritance oh I do
[40:01] I do feel such a draw into this world inheritance and that others the Lord has an inheritance in his people and that they have an inheritance in him is the same inheritance all your glory is in his inheritance and they rejoice in his beautiful it is in a service to him that I may glory with thy inheritance the Lord's portion is his people gave to be the lot of his inheritance and his people declare in whom also we have an inheritance it's wonderful that the Lord of life and glory has an inheritance in which he rejoices in poor men to see who he is and who needs nothing
[41:04] King of kings and Lord of lords and his inheritance is in the church and if we're met together hereby the spirit will his inheritance he dwells in Zion and when he dwells in Zion he dwells in his people's heart he doesn't dwell in the bricks and mortar it's in their hearts and they have an inheritance in him that I may glory with in with I inheritance with nothing else to glory it's a wonder that an unworthy sinner is allowed to glory with his inheritance and then you see there's a new nature given oh and his people that glory can be brought into blood relationship with the Lord Jesus they related to him and those relationships he still maintained he still a brother born for adversity exalted in heaven he is the bridegroom of the bride and a marriage ceremony is yet to take place and blessed are they that they are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb the glory that is inheritance do you look at the text my friend it's everything that the things of God and God himself and if you divide from all the things of this poor world and you'll feel the distinction in your own heart
[43:03] I wish I could speak of it but I I can't I don't want to speak of it to my satisfaction my heart if I could it wouldn't be what it is we must die to speak of Christ for the inheritance of us oh the glory of that inheritance of us and mercy this is going to prepare a place for us and when you're meditating on these things it doesn't make everything in this world very secondary and important to me now don't be clear this my dear young people this life is important to be put here the Lord in this prayer said
[44:11] I pray not that thou shouldst take them out of the world that thou shouldst seek them from the evil there's a word to be done and whatsoever thy hand tries to do to do it with thy might the only thing is and what you need to remember is that thou through this simple life a natural life with its responsibilities and that a spiritual life oh may the Lord teach you bless you and guide you bring you out and gather you in how long this will be this is what we need to continue and build and maintain family wonderful and artistic n kind
[45:21] Thank you.
[45:51] Thank you.
[46:21] Thank you. Thank you.
