[0:00] As the Lord may be pleased to help me, I direct your attention to Psalm 106.

[0:15] I'm reading, remember me, O Lord, with the favour that thou bearest unto thy people.

[0:32] O visit me with thy salvation. Remember me, O Lord, with the favour that thou bearest unto thy people.

[0:54] O visit me with thy salvation. O visit me with thy salvation.

[1:30] Of thy Holy Spirit. And that is a favour in and of itself. It can be said that the Psalms were not written by dead men.

[1:47] But by the children of God. Recording and testifying of those things that they have handled are tasted unfelt.

[2:05] And so, oft times, the Lord's people in this day and age find an echo to these Psalms in their own heart.

[2:22] Why as deep calleth unto deep. So the deep things, or simple things of God, they call unto those things.

[2:40] Which the Holy Spirit is working in your poor heart. Working indeed in you and for you.

[2:51] It may be sometimes at great heights. Also, it may be said, sometimes it is in great depths.

[3:04] But nevertheless, the favour is the same. It's the benefit. It is actually profited by the guiding and teaching of the Holy Spirit.

[3:22] And so we find here that the Psalmist is speaking in these personal strains. And who is he speaking to?

[3:38] Who is it that you are speaking to? Why he was speaking unto almighty God.

[3:52] He opens the Psalm on this very note. And that is in a collective way. Praise ye the Lord.

[4:05] O give thanks unto the Lord. For he is good. For his mercy endures forever. He has this desire.

[4:18] That the people gather together. Might join and unite in one. In thanking God. For all his mercies and benefits.

[4:33] Surely there is no greater mercy and benefit. Than that which God has given to his one church.

[4:44] Through Jesus Christ. His only Son. That is a good word. Is a blessed word, is it not?

[4:54] God so loved the world. That he gave his only begotten Son. Or sent his only begotten Son into the world.

[5:07] That whosoever should believe in him. Should not perish. But have everlasting life. Do he not then immediately.

[5:20] Enter into. What the psalmist is calling for. Here. Remember me O Lord.

[5:31] With the favour. That thou bearest unto. Thy people. The love of God. To poor and needy sinners.

[5:42] That he should send. His only begotten Son. Into the world. What a favour that is.

[5:54] Have we not thought. And felt it. To be so. From time to time. When we have felt the love of others. Toward us.

[6:06] And we stood in the wonder. And amazement. That they should love us so. When we have failed so greatly.

[6:20] Surely then. How great a wonder. Is that. That all God. Should love us so. That to save our souls.

[6:32] He should send. His only. Begotten Son. Into the world. To suffer. Bleed and die.

[6:44] O remember me. With that favour. That thou bearest. Unto thy people. For the psalmist.

[6:56] Had also received. The favour. That he bears. Unto his people. And what is that. Friend. He was bound.

[7:08] He was chained. By a living face. In Jesus Christ. For he believed. That the people of God.

[7:19] Were the God's people. And that. He does have mercy. Upon them. Oh therefore. He had this desire.

[7:31] In his heart. And in his soul. That he may be gathered in. And be numbered. With his people.

[7:43] Is this. Your humble. Desire. Before God. At this time. Does it bring forth.

[7:53] Does it bring forth. These truths. From your heart. That you might be numbered. With them. Numbered with them. May I be.

[8:05] Now and through. Eternity. You know. For Balaam. He didn't want to be numbered.

[8:17] With God's people. Did he. Upon us. But he wanted indeed. To be found with them. Hereafter.

[8:28] Jesus. Jesus. Answers this. Matter. For us. In a very clear way. For he said. No man.

[8:39] Can. Serve. To. Masters. And what was. Whose master. It was. Balaam. Was it himself. Was it.

[8:51] Balak. Was it. The God of Israel. No. My friend. This was his master. It was money. Not just money.

[9:03] But the love of money. The love. Of riches. Friend. Oh remember me. With that favour. That thou bearest unto thy people.

[9:18] Why to be content. With such things. As we have. For he has said. I will never leave thee.

[9:29] Nor beside thee. Oh I say. May God so bless us. With that desire. That he might give us neither.

[9:43] Poverty. Nor riches. But feed us with food. Convenient for us. People seem to have.

[9:54] A very strange. View. Of that text. In the day in which we live. As if. Well we can.

[10:05] Steer and live in the middle course. And thus indeed. Be. Greatly benefited. Every way. Friends.

[10:17] Surely. The desire. Of the psalmist. Was this. And he said. Give me neither. Poverty. Nor riches. But feed me with food.

[10:30] Food. Convenient for me. What is the food. That is convenient. For a never dying soul.

[10:42] It cannot be. Anything. In this life. No. Nothing. At all. But that food. That is convenient.

[10:53] For us. Is that life. Eternal. Through Jesus Christ. Our Lord. You ought to be fed.

[11:04] Always heavenly food. My friend. Man does not live. By bread alone. But by every word.

[11:15] Which precedes. From the mouth. Of the Lord. Most high. What are the words. Of almighty God.

[11:25] Most high. Unto you. Unto me. Oh. The psalmist. In another place. Says. Be not silent.

[11:38] Unto me. Lest I become like those. That go down. Into the pit. Then he wanted.

[11:49] The Lord. To speak to him. His words. Were so vital. They're so necessary. It was by his word.

[12:01] That alone. That he could live. And continue. In believing. In the riches. Of his grace.

[12:12] Here below. Remember me. Friend. It is something. That is completely. Separated. From all. Earthly.

[12:24] Nourishment. All. Earthly. Benefits. Why. Of course. We would be. Thankful. For them. As the psalmist.

[12:35] In the opening verses. Doesn't lose sight. Of them. But. Oh. Remember me. Lord. Let it not be. That I should be like those.

[12:48] That go down. Into the pit. What's he mean. By those. That go down. Into the pit.

[13:00] Like those. Who shall be lost. Friend. You. Remember. When we think. Of. In the biblical days. The pit.

[13:10] That was dug. Was. The shape. More. Like. A well. They'd either. Lower prisoners. Down in it. Or throw them.

[13:22] Down in it. But the side. Was so. Stayed. It was. Impossible. For them. To get out. Or to.

[13:33] Climb out. And so. It is. Impossible. For us. By nature. To get out.

[13:44] Of that pit. Oh. In and of. Ourself. We remember. That Jeremiah. They drew him up.

[13:54] Out of the pit. And out of the miry clay. Why? They drew him up. With cords. Underneath his arm. And pulled out.

[14:05] Jeremiah. So we get. The illustration. Here. Of the psalmist. When he said. Be not silent.

[14:17] Unto me. Lest I become. Like those. That go down. Into the pit. Surely. That is. A favor.

[14:29] A divine. When thus. We are brought. To hear. The Lord's voice. My friend. Have you heard.

[14:40] The voice of the Lord. In any way. At all. Where the word of God. Has been. Fixed.

[14:50] In your heart. And been. Recorded there. It may. It may be. When we are. But children. It may be.

[15:02] In the. Even tide. Of life. When we are. Very old. It may be. Anytime. In life. The Lord.

[15:13] Speaks. At his people. Not with a voice. That is heard. By the. Natural ear. No. Indeed. Not. But as a voice.

[15:26] That speaks. To us. Within. Oh. Remember me. Oh. With that favor. That thou.

[15:37] Bearest. Unto. Thy. Of people. Does he. Not. Show. To us. That in. So. Hearing.

[15:48] Our. Our. Cries. And our. Prayers. He. Answers. Us. One. Of those. Said. He.

[16:03] He. Doesn't. Or. In verse. He. Didn't. Hear. His. Prayer. He. Felt. That the. Heavens. Were. Iron. As. Iron. And. Brass. And. His. Prayers.

[16:14] Did not. Penetrate. Through. No. I. But the. Lord. Was. Silent. To him. We.

[16:25] Read. Of. One. That. Dear. Woman. Who. He. Said. We. Read. He. Answered. Her. Not. A. Word. Not. A. Word. Maybe.

[16:37] Some. Soul. Here. This. Morning. Who. Feels. Just. That. That. He. Does. Not. Answer. A. Word. That.

[16:48] Does. Not. Mean. To. Say. He. Doesn't. Hear. Your. Prayers. He. Doesn't. Take. Note. Of. Your. Prayers. He.
